"I found Dr. Zuccala to be just wonderful. He makes you feel at ease. Extremely knowledgeable and in tune with his patients. The office staff is just great. They were like family. I found that they remembered who I was and added a personal touch to my care. The environment was warm and friendly. Dr. Zuccala is one of the best in his field. He does great surgery. They have an excellent weight loss program from pre-op to post-op. Over all I would rate the program on a scale from 1-10 as 9. I'd like to give them a little bit more to strive for. Surgical competence and bedside manner go hand in hand."-TransformingTeresa

"When I first met my surgeon I had a good feeling about her, she seemed to be honest and straight to the point and I like that about people. And every staff that I have had the pleasure to meet at Danbury Hospital were so wonderful, thoughtful, to me they made me feel good I was in a family setting. One thing you should know is having Dr. Laura Choi for a surgeon your in good hands! After my surgery, Dr. Choi came to see me and check on me and explain to me how important it will be for me to listen and follow the steps and if there were any problems to never hesitate to contact them at Danbury Hospital. And they all explained and made it very clear about all my risks that are involved with this surgery (RNY). She knows what she is doing and her bedside manner is wonderful just like her!"-37butterfly

"Dr Abkin's passion for bariatric surgery is completely realized during the first meeting with him. He is completely sure of his abilities in a non-arrogant but confident manner, which made me feel like I selected the correct surgeon for my situation. He is extremely thorough in his explanations, has great bedside manners and if I were to have this surgery again I would only recommend Dr. Abkin."-ginn

"Dr. V was wonderful. He is very personable, speaks good English, and seemed very relaxed. He even visited with me and talked about his family, cruises, food, etc. He answered all my questions prior to surgery and explained things very well. I was very comfortable under his care and trusted him fully to do a great job, which he did. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering bariatric surgery. He is a great one!"-spunkysmom

"I am very impressed with my surgeon Dr. Richard Gordon. I am 55 years old and weighed 325 lbs. at the time of my surgery and Dr. Gordon had to work 1 1/2 hours prior to getting to my actual Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery because I had scar tissue from an old gallbladder removal. Dr. Gordon did a terrific job and I would recommend him highly to anyone considering bariatric surgery. He still managed to do my surgery laparoscopically even under these conditions. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow that I had the surgery and I have lost approximately 40 lbs."-marianneblues

"I knew him from past experiences. One of, if not the best, surgeon/bariatric surgeon in the field. Very knowledgeable and always learning to improve his technique, leaves minor scars after surgery. His staff is extremely good. They love him and do their job with the utmost professionalism. And I am not just saying this; I believe everything I am writing with every fiber of my being. Stresses aftercare to the utmost. The aftercare program is very explicit. He tells you all the risks before, during and post surgery; Overall. on a 1 - 10 he and his entire staff are 10!!! Surgical competence is tantamount; bedside manners are a plus, He and his staff have both." -ronvh1947

Contributing sponsor since 2006!
"I'm 5 weeks post-op and doing great. Dr. Peluso impressed me from the very first seminar and continues to do so. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, she's also very friendly and knows how to use tough love when needed (i.e.-if you're a smoker, quit now!!). The surgery went great and she was even there discharge day (Thanksgiving Day) to evaluate me and remove my drain. My follow up visits have been equally positive. The staff at Pittsburgh Bariatrics, the practice she is with, are amazing. You can call as often as you like with as many questions as you like. It's great to come into the office and be remembered and greeted with a smile, especially when support is so so important in the WLS process."-Souperwoman
