1 cup of kashi go lean, and a half a cup of yogurt. Yogurt has like 6 grams of protein and the cereal has 13..and like 9 grams of fiber to boot......

eat it slow...chew well....and trust me it will fill you up....and sustain you to lunch....

Topic: Chewing...Do I over think it?

    Ok Everyone....

How much do you chew? I've been told that i'm over thinking it....I chew my food until it's the baby food consistency or slightly lumpy/bumpy just before that baby food consistency...and I chew and chew until the flavor is gone and there is no more goodness about it...I will end up spitting it out....especially if I don't feel it's chewed enough problem is...and this is where it gets gross...if I look at it or my husband looks at it...he says..you could have swallowed that....

so how much do you chew and when do you know it's enough?

Topic: RE: I can't help but wonder...

Well let's see I had mine about 14 days after yours it was open...which sucked...and then I've had gout...so I don't get all my protein in ..I avg. maybe 15 to 20 grams a day...I'm not allowed any supplements right now it's only from what I eat..and even that is generous because I don't think it's that much. I can't excercise and I can barely walk from my gout. I've lost 62lbs. by doing nothing....nope I don't feel different, I don't feel any better and yes I wish I could do some excercises...the whole thing is yes everyone is different and no matter how much we talk about our experiences...it's your own journey...

I do what I can and hopefully after almost 2 months of gout and not going anywhere but my bed and my couch and to work as of recent...I'm hanging in there...I don't get all my water and I too struggle wtih my vitamins...and obviously my protein....

Hang in there girl....I know I'm trying....Just think slower weight loss maybe less excess skin???

    Keep the Faith....

Topic: RE: Lettuce - I miss it, when can I have it?

I tried chewing a piece of lettuce this weekend just to see ( I did spit it out) it seemed like it just balled up a lot and even though it was breaking down it seem to stick together...did you chew it that much or less? I always chew everything to death and then by the time i'm done I still think I can't swallow it.

    Topic: RE: Meals/snacks

I eat about 6 small round tostitos chips with salsa for a snack and I peel the skin off the grapes and have a few of those as well.

    Soup is a good one....

I eat oatmeal for breakfast...or yogurt...

I don't pound the protein like everyone else because a week after surgery I had a massive gout attack in both feet (still ongoing, but getting better) couldn't walk at all for 3 1/2 weeks. So the protein I get is from the food I eat and absolutely no supplements. so I probably get 1/4 of what everyone else is doing for protein.

I'm dying for a salad and some toast!

Topic: RE: How's all the Jan 28th doing?

Well better than I was...my RNY went open during surgery...so I have a HUGE inciscion on my stomach...and then I had a gout flare up! Couldn't walk for 3 weeks....I'm walking today!!!!
Food is a litle difficult for me texture wise...but chicken, salmon, ground beef have all gone down and stayed down. I've lost 48 pounds so far. I'm also always thirsty..anyone else always thirsty???
