But I am now 2 years and 8 months post surgery and I am still loving it! I have lost 177 pounds. I am maintaining now, and have been for almost a year. I have had a baby, who is now almost 9 months.

Hi Liz,  I was really fortunate to get the plastics done.  Dr. Sauced was 1/3 the cost of getting it done in Californa, and only one recovery, not four.

Congrats on being at goal for over a year!  It took me well into the second year to get there.

Way to go surgisister!!!!  You look amazing!

Also, congratz on getting the plastics.  I've priced it here in Canada, and it just isn't realistic for me to get anything done at this point.  With a family to support, and trying to pay my way through nursing school PS is still a far off dream of mine LOL.  It must be great to live without the loose skin though, that honestly is the most depressing part of my own personal "body" situation, I've been at goal for over a year and LOVE my new weight though

I haven't stopped by this forum in close to two years but decided to stop by and see how people are doing.

What a great two years.  I've been a very slow loser but really hung in there with daily food tracking daily exercise and participating in support groups.

This surgery really changed my life!

    Topic: One Year. No Regrets!
Hi everyone! So it has been a long time since I have visited my OH crew...you all have crossed my mind lately because I am coming up to my 1 year anniversary this month! I can't believe it has been a year...the time really has flown by. This site helped me TREMENDOUSLY preop and post op up until about 5 months post op. At that time I found myself almost addicted to OH - - I would log on everyday comparing my progress to everyone else's....which is never good. LOL I decided to live life and stop worrying about how everyone else was doing and have me time. I know what my personal goal is and that is all that matters. It has been one year and I have lost 182 lbs! 143 lbs since surgery but 182 total! I still have work to do but I just wanted to let the newbies and preops know that I have no regrets and that having my gastric bypass RNY saved my life and is the best decision I have ever made. Yes, there have been bad days but there have been many, many, more FABULOUS days. I am a work in progress on the inside and out. I am not perfect and I never will be....but I know what I want and who I am. I want to say thank you to everyone's post's and blogs that truly helped me get through the bad times. I have to admit I was nervous when my "one year" approached.....scared that this was the end of my weight loss. I now know and realize that I choose when it ends, no one else.

    Take care!
    Sara

The scale is moving again (not fast enough, LOL) but it's moving.  I am about 43/44 lbs from goal and I would like to get there by the end of April - that's seems reachable?!

The holidays were easy enough to manage.  I ate like I did before, no surprises or testing my pouch.  I've joined the Y and not only is it fun but I love that they have tons of fitness classes.  I try to get a good workout in 4x a week, if not I walk 30 minutes on my treadmill.

I completely agree with you I feel so much more comfortable in my skin,  I am still getting used to shopping, I have to stop myself from walking to the plus size section all the time or from grabbing the extra large.  Thank Goodness my friends help me.  I have about 14 pounds that I would like to lose my doctor doesn't want me to weigh any less than that.  I never thought I would make my original goal weight and I am so glad that I have. Now I'm working on a new goal weight . Best of Luck to all my February friends!

Thank you for the reality check, LOL!  I keep thinking my scale is broken.  I'm just going to take up a hobby other than scale hopping !!  I excercise 4x week but haven't been dilligent with my water intake.. I'll take your advice and work on getting in the recommended amount.  I promise I will not get on the scale for 3 weeks!!

    Good luck in the 5k!!

Congratulations to you too!! For the record...just one week is NOT a stall.  Put the scale away for a few days and give it a little rest.  Then, check it in about a week.  I only weigh once a week.  It has worked pretty well.  I have some weeks where I lose a 1/2 a pound...the next I lose 4!  It all works out.  Also, when I get slow on the scale I really focus on my protien and water.  It usually works!

Are you exercising any?  I have not done much in the past couple of weeks.  I need to get on the ball with things.  I do have a 5k coming up this weekend though.

Thank you for responding.  Keep up the good work.

Time certainly does fly! I was telling a friend of mine today that I will be 1 yr out soon.  I'm feeling great!  Lost 120 lbs and have 50lbs more to go before goal!  On the downside, my scale hasn't moved in a week, ugh! I hit that dreaded stall.

Congrats on your weight loss thus far!!

I can not believe it has already been 9.5 months since my surgery.  I am down almost 160lbs. and I feel awesome.  I still have about 50 pounds to go!

How are other February 2010 WLS people doing?

Topic: RE: Wow time goes by fast...
I have lost 100 pounds so far and I don't expect to lose much more, but I'm okay with that.  I, like you, need to exercise and can't find the motivation to do it!  I would love to lose the saggy skin, but I knew that was one of the possibilities and I'll take it over obesity anyday!  I've had no health problems, take my vitamins, and I don't dump.  I can eat about 3-4 ounces (I think).  No bowel troubles either.  I also love shopping for clothes, but don't have the money to do it :(

I don't get on here as much as I use to but I have been wondering how everyone is doing? How has life changed for everyone? What have been your challenges? How much weight did you lose and how much more would you like to lose?

As for me I have been getting so many compliments from not only people I know but strangers who see my before pictures. I feel more comfortable and love the difference in my appearance. My challenges have been taking my meds (I know I should take them but I don't I know I need to change that) and I need to start exercising because even though I ave lost a lot of weight I still have no energy or motivation to get up and do it. I've lost about 72 lbs so far and hope to lose another 13-20 lbs I went from a size 16 pants and 1XL plus size tops to now a size 8-10 in pants (size depends on the brand) and a size M tops went from a 38C to a 32B but it is a great feeling going into any store I want and finding clothes that fit and it is also great that if I see something cute I can look for my size and see how it looks on me no more being disappointed that they don't make that style in my size because now they do :o) the only bad thing is I spend a lot more on clothes because I buy a lot more since I can find them so much easier. Now I love to shop for clothes.

Hi, all! I am new at this, in a way. But I am eight months out and feeling ok,  I continue to learn more each day, and deal with eating demons.  It's not that i am hungry, it's my way of dealing with stress.    I like  the lady i see in the mirror, the fact that with this tool i can be successful at loseing the weight, and digging out the person that has been protected in side.

I have been on a stull for a month in a half, so i am still at 215. but increasing my exercise, and making sure i get my protein, with water is my goal now.    I have notices that my finger nails are thin and they are cracking  in the middle lately.

I am going to focus on my proteins and exercise to see if i can break the 15 this week.  I love the fact that i no longer take insulin, but now we have to find out why i fall to sleep after i eat.

but other than this i am so ready to do what it takes to reach my goal of 170 lbs.
