My surgery went a day earlier then scheduled. By changing my date one day sooner, it allowed 2 other candidates to have surgery on thursday. So, I went to the hospital on Wed May 26th and I am done...... I feel scared. I am drinking my broth, eating my jello, and trying with all my might to get in my water. Today is post op day 4 and I am wanting to chew something. I feel hungary, but I try to take a drink of water when the cramping starts. I can't wait to get past week one.

Sounds like you are doing great, just normal feelings. I am 7 days out, and I would kill for a piece of nice soft bread instead of this yucky Ensure, but hey, we can do it! Look how far we have come already!! You hang in there and best wishes to you!!

Wow, I see I didn't keep up on my wonderful experience.  It has been 7 years now.  Today, I weigh only 121- 126 lbs.  I don't think I had this weight even as a teen.  I feel fantanstic.  I did gain weight when I didnt stay on my life change eating habits! (Stress of doctoral educational program and started eating unhealthy).  I noticed as soon as I began eating breads and carbs my weight increased.  When I was shocked to be at 156 lbs 2 years ago I started jogging daily.  I lost 10 lbs right away.  I thought ok, now I am at 146 and that is only 15 up and I am ok with this.  However, I wasn't hungry anymore and I continued to decrease my weight to 119 lbs.  As of today 11/26/11 I am at a steady weight of 123 lbs.  I am very proud of this and continue to eat limited carbs, high protein and veggies.  I have to stay away from bread, pasta etc.  My favorite food to eat is greek yogurt, fresh fruit and high protein granola!  I hope for everyone to have success in their surgery and good outcomes as well.  You have the power!
