Cyndi that is great!  I consider myself lucky too!  And even the PS said I am VERY fortunate!!! What I am having done needed to be done prior to WLS and the rest is being picky.  but hey I have been this far right!  I have friends though that were not as lucky.  The longer I wait the more that will nto need to be done.  But that is nto what i expected with all the weight I had to lose.  I expected it to be much worse  LOL!

Cynthia, Thanks for hte info.  I figured out how to make this one work for now.  And anything else is really being piocky so it can wait.  I feel blessed that I do not have much skin to deal with .  But I will share this info in support group.  It might benefit a few people.

Good luck Donna!  Remember, fine grit sandpaper can be your friend.  No plastics for me!  I kinda got lucky.  I have about 3 more pounds I want to lose.  You know, it's a number thing now.  But, I figure if I can fit in size 2 or size 4 jeans (size 7 in juniors), I'm doing okay. lol  I got really, really lucky that nothing is really that flabby.

Can't wait to hear more about it!  I'm almost jealous. LOL

Topic: Anyone had a PS consult yet!!!
I had one in the begining of August.  So excited to start this process!!!!  It will be awhile on some of it.  I will have to make it in stages LOL!  But we are currently attempting to get the insurance to cover the first part (or most of it).  Very exciting and I can't wait!!!!!!  though I want to lose another 20lbs before I do the lower lift. That  my insurance will probably not cover  so I will have to wait to get the money together.....but just having the plan on what we are going to do and just having settled on the PS I like.....that is exciting!!!!!

So anyone else working on this part of the journey yet?

Chantel,

So good to hear from you. I just posted my favorite breakfast over on the RNY board this morning.

Breakfast:
1/2 cup Greek Yogurt (0% fat)
1/2 cup Lowfat Cottage Cheese
1/4 cup Kashi Go-Lean Granola
3 spenda packets
1/2 tsp SF Gelatin - Strawberry flavored
2 oz Strawberries

Just over 200 cals and 27 grams of protein....desert for breakfast...this should be illegal. Off to a great PLANNED start to my day.

For your tortillas that you use, have you found the high protein wraps. I like them and the protein is amazing.

First, YIPPEE!!!!  We have a new look to our message board!  And we can use our signatures!!!

Anyway, here's my answer to your question.  I'm a bad girl.  There are days I can't even look at food let alone eat it.  I'm thinking it's depression or something.  I've become a fork food pusher.  We just got back from lunch.  All I did was cut food and move it around.  Sadly, Mark got Oreos.  Guess who could actually spend a day just eating 6 Oreos and be happy.  Sad, sad, sad.

If I'm having a "normal" day I usually have either my Fuzzy Navel protein shake or some cereal for breakfast.  I'm like 8 again.  I love Lucky Charms. LOL  I'll drink a hot tea after I eat.  Lunch is either a small salad or grilled chicken at Cracker Barrel.  Dinner is whatever I cook.  Last night I made Bisquick Healthy Chicken Parm breasts.  VERY good.   So, I had half a chicken breast (about 2-3 oz), a spoon of mac n cheese and a spoon of stuffing with a little gravy on it.  I had Splenda Tea afterwards.

Around 10 pm I watch General Hospital on SoapNet.  After my aunt's stepdaughter's recent horror with popcorn (she's 4 years post-op), I steer clear of popcorn!  I try to either suck on two SF Fudgesicles (40 cals each) or have a cookie or two.  Usually, though, it's the fudgesicles.

I'm jealous you can do leftovers.  Any time I warm up food I get the foamies.

I craved diet coke right after the surgery, which is weird because I wasn't really a drinker pre-op. And did give in a couple of times but I hate the stuff now. I have had a few sips here and there when I have no other option. My insides seem to have developed an intolerance to all protein powders! They all give me horrible gas. They didn't in the first few months. No matter how I make them too.

I pretty much lay off all the pastas, breads, sweets (the fattening things). I eat a lot of salad, fruit and of course meat. If I see that my weight is starting to go up a few pounds then I go back on Whey Protein for two meals and then veggies and meat for dinner. One thing I have really stuck to is NO SODA. I am so scared of carbonated drinks that all I drink is water and crystal lite. If I eat one large meal that is usually the only meal I can eat for that day but if I eat small portions, then I can eat more during the day. You look beautiful. Love, Esther

Topic: RE: Monday Weigh-in or Check-in
Thank you for your well wishes. My stomach is still upset because I keep remembering my son collapsing in my arms and his wife throwing up when the doctor told them the news. I truly believe in prayer but that day was the worst day in my life. I wish I could shake it. I know in time I will be fine but I had to be strong for my kids and had to act like everything would be fine (which it turned out fine) but I felt like collapsing myself. My appitite still hasn't come back yet. I am just so thankful that our precious baby is fine and doing so well. He walks, laughs, he's starting to talk and plays with other kids which he never really did before. We just thought he was mellow and preferred being alone. Little did we know that the sweet baby was in pain. Even the doctors said he is going to be just fine. Thank God for prayer. It's so good seeing your beautiful face again. Love, Esther

Topic: What are you eating?
I'm curious to see what you guys are eating now at 15 months out! I usually have breakfast when I get to work. It's either oatmeal, cereal, greek yogurt, and/or fruit. On my bad days when I can't grab anything I pick up a breakfast wrap at the coffee shop and have 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 for lunch. It's a white-flour tortilla with 2 eggs, cheese and bacon. Not the best of choices, I know. Lunch is usually whatever I had the night before for supper. If I run out of leftovers I either have a big salad, or this veggie/cheese/cracker plate from the deli. It's a small plate with a cheese stick, veggies, and 2 saltine crackers. Then comes the evening - my major downfall time. I still come home (not even hungry) and feel like I can eat anything and everything in front of me. Even if it's fruit - my portion control is non-existent. Supper is usually a lean meat with something else. Either veggies, or a starch. I feel like if I eat less throughout the day, I get much fuller and faster than if I eat more. Anybody else find that?

Hi Kathy. Welcome to the May 2007 family. Like April, I try to get my protein in through good old food. But, my fave is the Nectar Fuzzy Navel mix with Tropicana SF Orangeade drink. YUMMY! I know a few people have difficulty finding it so I'm not sure if it's just an Eastern thing. But, I love those. It's my "sweet" fix. Sounds like your WLS is a great success. Congratulations to you and your hubby! * Cyndi * 265.8/139.8/150 Highest/Current/Surgeon's Goal

Hello and welcome to our board. Sounds like your WLS has been a success. I don't have any tips on protein for ya, though. I get all my protein thru food. Guess I am one of the fortunate ones who can do that. Take care, April

Hi Kathy and welcome!!! I just found the Lean Desserts protien powder and love it. You mix a scoop to 4-5 oz milk and it mixes up thick. I use it like a pudding. Also I make a pack of plain oatmeal, mix in half of scoop of cinnamon roll lean dessert and some milk.....very yummy! I was getting tired of drinking protein drinks so had to change it up a bit. I do not do the special K drinks since there is only 5g but if you like those you might want to try the Nectar flavors. They are similar in there textrues as the K drinks but you will get 20g in a scoop. I have started asking for samples at all the nutrition shoppes and even Smoothie king has them. Has one helped me try and find some new things and two save money LOL! Donna

Hi everyone...I also had my surgery May of 2007. Everything has "generally" gone really well. I started at 280 and i just hit my 100 mark (actually 101) . I am looking for some protein ideas. I just found the Special K 2o drinks that have 5g of protein. I did the Costo protien drink for a while but can't tolerate it now, although hubby (2/13/08) still loves it.

Hi April, Sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my mom 7 years ago and I still pick up the phone to call her when anything happens and I need to talk to her. I have a friend who told me to talk to her when I am alone and she will hear me and somehow will let me know that she is there. My grandson is such a miracle, we are still amazed at his recovery. He is doing so well. We are taking him this morning to have another CT SCAN just to make sure everything is okay but we can see that he is okay just by his actions. All of you have been so dear to me and I feel blessed to have you always there to help me through the hard times. Thank you for being there. Love and hugs, Esther

So glad your grandson is doing so well!!!! Sorry your family has gone through so much. I have not weighted as the scale went up a little for me. But I had unexpected emergency surgery Monday which now has me home this week. So I am back to the basics nd getting back on track. Sat night after dinner I was in horrible pain that would not stop. Now that think about it I have not felt well for some time after eating. It was my gallbladder and my bariatric surgeon took it out Monday. The on call wanted to take it out Sunday but I called my surgeon and they ended up admitting me for a day of antibiotics and he worked me into the surgery schedule Monday. And I actually came home Monday night. He peeked at all his handiwork while he was in there and said all looked good and now I have scars on the right that mirror the ones on the left LOL! I feel really good now though and could probably go back to work tomorrow but my dr says not until monday. I am still pretty sore so I will comply. I am trying to get back to the basics and back on track while I am home. Donna
