Topic: RE: B12 and Iron problems
I have rocked along great now for 2 1/2 years, lost my 100 lbs and am holding where I want to be, but then I started getting tired and do I mean TIRED. Turns out I am low on B12 and Iron! I have started the B12 injections last week and that has really helped. What I want to know is how others have managed these things. Do you take weekly injections? And how about the Iron? I have started supplements but I worry about the absorption issue. My doc (family) does not want to to the iron shots. I have upped my intake of iron rich foods but that causes the same question to come up. So anyway, What do you do for these? I have not posted in ages but I still read from time to time and like to keep up with the names I have come to know. Hope you are all doing well-------- Sharon
    Topic: RE: OT: Vacation poll!
We got back last week from our vacation in Colorado. It is in the mountains between Creede and Lake City. The camp ground is at about 9000 feet and is wonderful--sooooo cool and quiet. We go there almost very summer at least once. My new picture was taken there!! I was surprised that they got it up so fast. Does any one else use a 5th wheel for trips? I love ours. We have had one for 20 years and take it everywhere. We are going to take it to Fort Worth next weekend and stay at Cow Town RV Park while we have a good time in the "big cities". Have a great vacation anywhere you go!! Traveling is great, Sharon P.S. Went to Playa del Carmen in 2002 and swam with the dolphins at Xelha---it was wonderful. I so want to go again as a much smaller person!! You will have a great time.
    Topic: RE: Water Loading...
I do it a lot. It really helps when you are having a munchy, hungry type day or just know you are going to be faced with too many food choices. If you go the the library part of the web site and enter it in the search area you will get lots of info about it. It also assures you of getting in all your water for the day lol. I is only suggested if you are at least 6 months out and I guess that is about when I began playing with it. I have a new picture from Mother's Day that I sent in and hope shows up soon!! This one is still from October!!
Topic: RE: Show off your weight
My date was 9/22/04 and my total loss is now 85 lbs from a weight of 266. I know that because I actually weighed last week lol. We are doing great and looking great, WE are great!!! Best wishes to everyone! Sharon
Topic: RE: Never thought it would happen...

Topic: RE: OT: This is hilarious!
That was great!! Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to send it on to some great women--and daughters!! I have been fine, thanks for asking the other day. It seems I just lurk most often these days and just read alot. I am still losing at a comfortable rate and would happy the rest of my life right where I am!! I am not sure what I weight now since it has been a month since I have stepped on a scale but the last week my clothes seemed to have "grown" again, if you know what I mean lol. I hope you and everyone else is doing well too. We need one of Sue's Monday polls again, and I will try to answer this one. I really love this board and all on it. I look with great pleasure to see each and everyone of you all's names on posts. Here is to a great bunch of losers!! Sharon
Topic: RE: poll: what are your favorite foods these days?
Cheese slices Cottage cheese doubles with fruit Pretzels!! HEB Choclate Mootopia Milk----14 grams of protein a glass and wonderfull! Hamburgers---a few bites of the real thing then just the meat Nachos Have a great weekend you all, Sharon
    Topic: RE: Waterworks
I just had to answer and let you know I have gone through an experience like yours. Mine was years ago over children's clothes but just as terrible. Keep your head up and know you did no wrong. A marriage is a partnership of two equals where your needs should also be equal. Would he wear clothes way too big himself? I pray your husband will come to his senses soon for both your sakes. Mine did over the years and has actually been great about my clothes now. Keep your chin up and wear those new clothes proudly!! Sharon

Topic: RE: Two Katie S.s!! Sorry gals!
I just realized there are 2 Katie S.s and I seemed to have answered posts thinking of the wrong one when I wrote! Forgiven me you 2!! I enjoy both your posts and thoughts and I guess I just never noticed the pictures and I should have, you both are looking great. I would have written most of the post today to anyone going through our 5 month hunger pains but the extra part must have confused the wrong Katie. Sorry-------you can bet I will pay more attention in the future. Here is to us all!! Sharon
Topic: RE: 5 month update-a little discouraged
You are doing great. Just remember that failure in not an option this time around!! Stay positive and let it work for you. Vent and whine all you want and just continue to pick yourself up and go on. We will all do this right and get to where we want to be. I have faith in you!! Sharon
Topic: RE: Is anyone else going through this?
Yes, sounds like me, too. I am surprised at how hungry I do feel sometimes, especially at work!! Home is not that much of a problem. Sweets are not a problem either and sometimes set better than other stuff!! The cake we had at work yesterday went down great while the chicken didn't. So what can we do? My friend who had this surgery 7/03 and has lost all her extra weight and is maintaining well says she beliveves the secret is not to obsess with it. Not to become so wrapped in fear of gaining that we lose the big picture--so to speak. We will continue to lose as long as we work the tool MOST OF THE TIME. Don't go to pieces over and opps now and then---just go back to doing the right thing next time. I am like Sue, my behavior gets worse when I get discourged. So I am trying to stay positive no matter what!! This is not just the latest in a long line of failed diets. This is it, this is the rest of my life and I am going to make it a good one. So I think you will do well too, Katie. You see the problem and are aware of it but I believe you can handle it!! Vent all you want when you need to---that is what this board is for. But just keep that big picture in view And stay positive!! Sorry I got so wordy for some reason but I really have faith in us and this surgery--we are a team effort and we will do this!! Like my friend Tracey says, if she can anyone can. And she works nights which is a handicap in any weight loss effort. So hang in there and take care of those kids and animals!! We have had birthday parties at our NICU like the one you did for your boys and they are great and always make everyone feel so good about our baibies and their outcomes. And my twin grandsons who are home now will have the same party one day!! My best to you---------Sharon
    Topic: RE: Good News...
That is great news!! And of course we would listen!!! Sharon
    Topic: RE: 5 months out!
It just hit me I am 5 months out today too!! Things have been so hetic today and I had to help DD take twins to doctor. I am down 72 lbs as of Feb. 9th, haven't weighed since. I will probably weigh again before March starts--I see my surgeon on 3/14 and I don't want to wait that long. You have done great too and like you, I am sooooooooo happy with the results and that I did this. Have a great 6th month!! Sharon
Topic: RE: 2/22 OT Poll: Dream Vacation
I love to travel--always have!! We have had an RV for years and have been everywhere in the USA with our kids when they were with us and now just hubby and I and the dogs. We especially love National Parks in the west like Yellowstone and Glacier. We like to go to the Cancun area too for a tropical change of pace----traveling is great! I can't wait to go there as a "normal" person lol. But where would I go if there were no limits? I would love to see Italy and Rome with all the history and ancient stuff to explore!! I would love to see Europe and England at least once in my life. Here's to us all fiting in where ever we go, Sharon
