You look gorgeous and how tall are you. By the way you are correct because God is the one to thank.

Topic: RE: How are we doing nearly 3 yrs later

My weight has remained between 146 to 148 since last summer.  Recently I quit smoking (for the 1000th) time and my weight jumped up, seems like overnight to mid 150's.  With that said I understand your concern.  Scarey, scarey, scarey!

I told myself that I would not allow my weight to go above 150.  Soooooooooo, I am back on my post surgery plan to get back to my fighting weight.  No, it's not a big deal (I'm 5'9") but I know from my history that 5 lbs can turn into 15 lbs and on and on and on, so I am taking this seriously and handling my business now.  Plus I have some upcoming events where food is crazy plentiful so I need to get this off to get my leeway back, but I will update you by the end of the month.

    Good luck to you too......

    Topic: RE: Alert......Alert......GOAL MET!!!!!!!
I failed to update this in February 2011, but my weight at that time was at an all time low of 147, from at surgery weight of 350........  Regretably I just recently gained to  7 lbs (up to 154)  and am working on getting back to 147.

I have decided that 150 is my threshold to get back on track so I am working on getting off  7 lbs.   Gaining weight can be very scarey for us WLS graduates because no one wants to go back to where they were.  It is so easy for 4 LBs to become 8 and 8 to become 15 and you know how the story ends.................

    Hi Janice,
Thank you for your post, seems like we have a lot in common.  I use a website called mycalroie_counter.com, it has been a tremendous help to me during my weight loss journey and I am trying to get back into for my maintainenance.  God has  blessed both of us and may we continue to be blessed.
Topic: RE: How are we doing nearly 3 yrs later
For me it will be 3 yrs on Sept 18, 2008.  It has been a most positive experience that yielded awesome results and not only transformed my body but my life too!

At 350 Lbs, I did not have the ability to do anything except go to work and come home.  Even if I did have the ability I did not have any desire to do anything at all.  At 350 LBs I could barely walk.  I had to be careful about what chairs I sat in because I couldn't get up off low chairs, or chairs without armrest.  I could not tie or buckle my shoes.  When I fell I could not get up, my feet were swollen most of the time.  I could not do grocery shopping because I did not have the endurance or stamina to go up and down the aisle.

I could just go on and on and on, but I think you get the point.  Well today, I can do just about anything I want to do.  I look and feel great and I am no longer a prisoner in my home.  This surgery "is" truly a lifesaver for me and I thank God for making it possible.

By the way, your results are awesome!

Topic: RE: OK, I HOPE SOMEBODY CAN ANSWER THIS
It's going great.  I reached my goal and now I am ranging between 5 and 9 lbs below my goal.

I spoke with the nurse about the BMR and she said I would not be able to eat that much food and she is right.  So I increased mine by about 200 to 300 cal.

    I can't believe I am saying this but I just don't want to lose anymore weight.  I went from a size 30 (4x) to a size 8 and I am about 5'9.

I feel so blessed, so, so blessed that I have a chance of a normal life.   Look at all the things I can do now that normal people take for granted:
WEAR A 2 INCH HIGH HEEL
    CROSS MY LEGS
GET IN AND OUT OF MY BATH TUB
    SIT IN A RESTARAUNT BOOTH
SIT IN AN AIRPLANE SEAT (WITHOUT A SEATBELT EXT)
SHOP IN ANY CLOTHING STORE (EXCEPT PLUS SIZE)
SIT ON AN OTTOMAN AND BE ABLE TO GET UP WITHOUT ASSISTANCE
SIT ON CHAIRS THAT DON'T HAVE ARMREST
    GET DOWN ON THE FLOOR
GET UP OFF THE FLOOR WITHOUT HELP
    SEE MY FEET
    TIE/BUCKLE MY SHOES
COMFORTABLY SIT BEHIND MY CAR STEERING WHEEL
AND SO, AND SO ON AND SO.

Thank you God, thank you Dr. Enoch, thank you OH!

Topic: RE: OK, I HOPE SOMEBODY CAN ANSWER THIS

    Thank you for your response.

There is something called the BMR or basal metabolic rate, which will tell you how many calories you need to eat to maintain/lose weight.  I am going to calculate mine as soon as I lose these last 5 lbs.  Hopefully that will help me maintain.  As for the carbs I have problems with those too.  I just crave them like a maniac and I find them to be so much easier to digest than some of the proteins, but I gotta be strong because nothing taste as good as being thin.

Topic: RE: Getting back on track

I HAVEN'T REACHED GOAL YET (10 LBS), BUT I AM TERRIFIED OF WHAT YOU ARE EXPERIENCING RIGHT NOW.  I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.  GOOD LUCK TO YOU..................

Topic: RE: OK, I HOPE SOMEBODY CAN ANSWER THIS
I am  15 months out and just 10 lbs from my goal weight but terrified of maintenance.  My question is:

WHAT DO I DO NOW, HOW DO I MAINTAIN?  I know I need to continue exercising, but how much do I eat?
