Topic: RE: My big day is tomorrow the 30th
Best of luck to you. My day is tomorrow as well. Have to be at the hospital at 5:30 YUCK! At least I get to go to sleep for a while my poor hubby has to stay awake. Again best of luck to you and I am right there with you on the nervous end of it. I am sure we will all do ok. My hubby had his surgery in June and he has tried all the puddings and the only one that tasted good was the good ol sugar free jello pudding. Let me know if you end up finding one that tasteds decent. Melissa
Topic: RE: 4 days till surgery...stressed
I am so sorry you have gone through all the stress. I too have surgery tomorrow and we had a very large reception yesterday and while my family said their well wishes they did not exactly extend their support. To top it all off my dear mother in law was so kind as to call and invite my husband out to eat today. She knows that I can not eat anything and it is misserable. It was just so inconsiderate and it titally rubbed me the wrong way. My husband went through it in June so he knows what it is like and told her no but I almost wish he would have told her how rude it was. Just remember that tomorrow is an awesome day and the start of the rest of our lives. I wish you the best and will keep you in my prayers. Best of luck and let them eat their hearts out when we look great!!!!!
Topic: RE: no prep req. w/ my surgeon
Patricia, I am scheduled for the 30th and my doc does not really have a prep either. I have to take fleet phosphosoda as a bowel prep the day before and of course the npo after midnight but that is all. I have heard a lot of people talk about the liquid diets and such but my husband had the surgery in June and he had no prep either. I guess it just must depend on the surgeon. Best wishes and prayers are coming your way!!!
    Topic: RE: Nervous
Mary, Boy can I relate to you. I am due to go the same day as you only my doc does not do the liquid diet thing...unless you count the "clean out your system" step the day before. I am doing the nervous eating thing as well. I did tell some of my family yet with telling my Dad now everyone knows....he can not keep anything to himself....plus I have a huge family. Oh well. I too feel like it is not real yet. Sometimes I think I am going nuts too. My husband is the one who at this point seems to be more excited than me. He had it done in June so he knows what to expect and all but for me it is very different. I don't think we are crazy at all. My process went so fast it has been unreal. From my initial meeting with the surgeon on Sept 27th to surgery a month later it is so unreal. Chalk it up to a good insurance company and an awesome Dr. with a great staff and God seems to be leading the way. I left it in His hands and wow it went fast. I so can relate with you though!!! I am just trying to look at the things to look forward to. Thinking about now the winter clothes in the closet that I have...well...won't fit....YAY!!!! I have never been able to say...gees these are just too big I need to go get a smaller size. Sorry for the long post but I am somewhat of a rambler and these days my thoughts seem to be going 90 miles an hour. Best of luck to you and I will be praying for you while I am alseep dreaming of all the new clothes I get to buy!!!!

Topic: RE: I got my date. Oct 30th!!!
Wow, What a whirlwind. I went to the surgeon on Wed. in hopes of getting the ball rolling to have surgery in Dec or Jan and to my suprise they said "well how about Oct 30th" so me being very suprised my awesome husband jumped in and said "we'll take it". So in a flash I am just over a month away from the start of my new life. My husband had his surgery June 5th so we have been living the life of WLS since then and now I get to join him. I am so excited and yet at the same time I think I am still in shock. I can not wait to join him on the loosing side of life! WOW how fast this has gone. I guess really all I can say is YAY! As the surgeon said now it is my turn to be the entre and my husbands turn to be the appitizer! We just got married in August and that was a great start to a new life. Our saying is "most couples get married, grow old and get fat together. We are the oppostie. Got married, will grow old and get SKINNY together" What an awesome thing to be able to say!!! I am sure the time will fly by but now it seems so close yet so far away. I have never had any type of surgery or even any serious injuries so this is a huge step for me but I know that it is truly a life saving one. I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!
