Im Late.......whats new, lol!

10 month mark on the 24th.

Highest:  247
Sugery:   226
10 month mark:  135
Goal:  130  ( doctors goal )
My goal: 120  ( hey I am only 5 foot tall )

I recommend using the daily plate for EVERY thing that goes in your mouth.  I too had hit a major stall and the scale hardly moved for 2 months.  Wasnt till I logged every morsel that I realized I was eating way over my calorie needs to lose weight.  Just because it is baratric friendly, doesnt mean its carb and calorie free ( cheese stick - 100 calories , Kashi bar - 140 calories, etc. )   Once I got back to my recommended calories and contined with the exercise the scale started moving again.  Good luck and I hope this helps

 Highest:  270
Surgery:  265
10 months: 194.5
Goal:  135
59.5 lbs to go

I feel like such a failure.  I had been so on track and losing regularly.  Then I went on vacation in May to Italy for 15 days.  That got me out of the exercise mode and certainly out of the routine with meals.  I have found it hard to find my way back.  I was exercising every day and now it's maybe once a week.  I am also eating all the wrong stuff.  I have lost nothing in three months.
Does anyone have some words of advice or motivation to get me back where I need to be?  I would love to hear menu suggestions.  How do you begin your day in meals?

Topic: Infections and Needed Surgery for Eroded Lap Band
After having lap-band surgery last October, having a port infection for the past 9 plus months, being sick with infection after infection for the past 9 plus months, being in the hospital and nursing home because of the infection,  having puss drained through a needle in my abdomen last month, a gauze packing removed from my port site.....finally, my wound healed!!!  If I didn't seek help from the Wound Clinic at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, I more than likely would still have the infection.  Now I have an eroded lap band and have to have surgery to have it removed.  I lost over 65 lbs.  I hate the thought of gaining it all back.

I urge anyone having similar infections that won't clear up to go to a wound clinic.  They can help tremendously.  In my case, it was a gauze packing inside my wound that caused my infections.

Topic: RE: Does anyone have the meal plan for the Protein Train????
Hey Amy, Check your previous post - I sent you the plan on 6-24-08. I still haven't tried it, but was looking for what I sent you so I could try it. I need to take a ride on the train and see if I can get these last 9 pounds done with - been stuck at the same exact weight every time I weigh for just over 10 weeks now!!! My family tells me that being at the same weight means my body has found it's "happy point," but I want to pu**** one more time before I decide that's what it really is. Oh heck, I just realized I have to copy the plan from my earlier message to print it anyway, so I can paste it here, too. Here ya go! This is what I was sent when I asked about it awhile back. I hope it helps. 5 Day Protein Train *Here are the rules for the protein train: © Cookie Luscious The goal is to put your body in ketosis and burn fat. Therefore, you must STAY BELOW 20g of carbs PER DAY. Go to google.com to read about ketosis. On this train ride, you CAN NOT eat: - Bread of any kind (bagels, crackers, waffles, pancakes, toast, wheat bread, white bread, rye bread, pumpernickel, sourdough - you get the picture). - Rice - Potatoes (white or sweet) - Flour - Gravy - Beans - Sweets (cakes, pies, candy, cookies, M&M's or anything in this family) - Fruit nor fruit juices - Nuts (pecans, brazil nuts, walnuts, peanuts, hazelnuts or anything in this family) - More than one (1) green, leafy, vegetable You CAN eat: - Any meat (read the labels because some meats have carbs) - Jerky - Eggs - Cheese - One green, leafy vegetable per day (collards, turnips, kale, spinach, romaine lettuce, bibb lettuce) ** BROCCOLI AND GREEN BEANS DO NOT FALL IN THIS CATEGORY ** - Protein shakes (read the labels) - Protein bars (read the labels) - As much water (or other SF, Sodium free, calorie free, caffeine free, carbonation free beverage) as you can hold. Menu ideas for the protein train: Breakfast ideas: Egg and cheese omelet Egg white omelet Egg, cheese, and meat omelet Boiled eggs Turkey bacon (or beef or pork) Chicken sausage (or turkey or beef or pork) Decaf coffee with protein powder added Snack Ideas: Deli turkey slices with cheese rolls Deli ham Protein shakes Pork rinds Beef jerky Turkey jerky egg salad Chicken Vienna sausage (or pork) Lunch ideas: Tuna salad Chicken salad Grilled chicken breast Steak or steak and eggs Turkey burger with cheese and mayo/mustard (or beef) Ground turkey with melted velveeta cheese Pork chop Baked fish Dinner ideas: Cajun shrimp All of the lunch ideas Grilled chicken on a bed of romaine lettuce Collard greens Turnip greens Kale Mustard greens Spinach Rack of lamb Veal Lamb chops Turkey chop Roast beef (no gravy) Chicken wings Turkey wings Chicken legs Leaf lettuce salad

Topic: RE: 9 Months! Where are you?
Jessica the other thing you have to remember is it is a percentage game as well...like me I have lost a lot of weight, 187lbs to be at a normal bmi of 25. On average people will lose 50% the first six months 25% more for a total of 75% by 12 months and then if you work hard you can lose the other 25% by about 18 months out. So for me to be on track I had to lose more than 90lbs by six months....you started out much smaller than me so your weight in lbs would be less but could be the same percentage. Does that make sense? What you can do to figure out the percentage of excess weight loss is figure out how much you have to lose to be at a normal bmi of 25. Then divide your weight loss by the excess weight to figure out wher eyou are at....for me.... 337-150 (bmi of 20)=187 131/187 = 70% of my excess body weight gone. Ok I think that I have rambled enough....hope that was helpful

Topic: RE: what are you all eatting now?
I tolerate most things well except \high carbs and anything with too much fat. I still will majorly dump if I get beside myself and consume those. I also have a huge issue drinking cold water. It always makes me super sick. I wish I could say I was following instructions, but I'm terrible. Somedays I feel like I eat a lot (no where near as much as before) and somedays barely anything. I really have to get refocused on drinking or eating at least one protein supplement per day and taking a vitamin. Perhaps if I start doing it in the morning I can get more consistement
