Overall, I am down 6 lbs from my pre-surgery weigh-in, but down 11 lbs since last week. Granted, those numbers include the water weight added by all the IV fluids. So, if I'm down another 5 lbs by next Monday when I see Birch, it averages 3 lbs a week, which is good I think. However, we will see. I didn't expect to take off 11 lbs this week, but I am on full fluid. So, I guess I can't be surprised.
I wouldn't say that 25-30 lbs post surgery is uncommon. I took 20 lbs off in the first month with my sleeve. However, by the clinics normal standards, it is too fast. However, they tend to lean on the side of normal people. However, it's my asertion that when dealing with obese and morbidly obese patients, you can't use the 1-2 lbs a week rule. Because as I just proved, the number doesn't work. On the other hand, you've had a special situation with your complications. So, I wouldn't worry too much. Just focus on protien if that's what your RD has said. When do you see your RD again?
Cheers!
