Surgeon appointment tomorrow and a bit nervous. I just found out this afternoon. Has anyone seen Dr DeGara? I read 3 reviews for him and they were not very favorable. I had never really heard of him before. Any info good or bad...just wanting to see what Im in for

Reviews aren't always true. I saw Dr Yaltho when I was in the clinic and was worried before my first appointment with her because I'd read negative reviews online. It turned out that I found her very pleasant and encouraging.

So go in there expecting to be treated well and I bet you will be. Good luck!

This doctor saved my life!  I would not be alive today if it wasn't for Dr. DeGara.  He is a British man who  is very blunt and to the point and he comes across a little stuck up.  But when it really matters he can be very compassionate.  I trust him 100%.  You are in good hands.

He's my surgeon as well, I met him once but was very impressed. I have my revision surgery date for July 24. I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for your reply. Not many people I know have heard of Dr Degara. Its been a whirlwind of activity since I saw him and apparently he kinda runs on his own rules...hence the reason  got a surgery date right away. I am now worried that I may not get surgery on Aug 14 as he said beause its not proper protocol at that clinic. My fingers are crossed that what he says is true and forsure.
This is the first weight loss surgery for myself, and I am kinda nervous and extremely excited. Best of luck with your revision.

He's my surgeon. He's fantastic. Very thorough. I recommend him to anyone.

I had my surgery July 24th, and got home yesterday. Dr. DeGara was fantastic with me. and so greatful for the opportunity to have him as my surgeon. He went on holidays but his surgical team was fantastic when they came to see me in the hospital. The nurses were fantastic and overall it has been a super experience.

Thank you, I had the Roux-en-Y revision and so this is my second go around. I knew what to expect well sort of it's been 20yrs. I believe in the Secret and have really worked hard on using the teachings to being posititve and knowing that with a surgery it takes time and lots of rest. So now I'm at home, resting and making sure to get my liquids in...

I'm so glad that you had a great experience. My surgery date is still Aug 14, the day after he returns from the Olympics....hope he is well rested. Have you had much pain or anything since you got home from the hospital? My biggest fear is the going to sleep part, even though I have gone to sleep 6 other times, this one has me in full aniexty mode. Keep us posted as yo how things progress for me. Glad there is some Alberta people here to share with. Its nice when you can talk with people closer to home.

Dr Degara is the best Dr. Ever. Band revised to rny. His and Dr. Karmali rock. Hope your still doing good.
