I am doing RNY surgery comming up in a couple of weeks, and wanted to know if there were any Schuster paitents here. Thoughts on how things went with your surgery or pre-op experiences?

I'm having VSG with Dr. Schuster the day before your surgery.  I've loved their office.  Eileen has been amazing.  I don't think I would have been approved for surgery had it not been for her.

Have you started your liquid diet yet?  Good luck!

Eileen is amazing!  I had some issues come up as well and she took care of it. The liquid diet started yesterday.............(sigh). Thanks for the kind words from all of you here. I would be lying if I said I wasnt scared about having the surgery.

I've met Dr. Schuster, though I'm actually having Dr. Podkameni do my surgery (he had the first available appt).  They both came highly recommended!  What day is your surgery? 

Okay, nevermind.   You're profile says the 26th. :)  Mine is the 27th.  I'll be in the hospital the same time as you!  I'm doing VSG though.  How are you handling your prop diet?  This is kicking my butt!

The diet has been realy rough, I wont lie it sucks. After the 4th day it got a little easier, now its just boring eating the same thing over and over again. Never thought I would say I hate choco shakes.

mrsnate, I originaly had Podkameni as my surgeon, then he left to go back east. I really like the surgeons the bariatric center has. Remeber to walk as much as you can after the surgery! See you in the halls.

dr schuster is amazing. he didnt do my gastric but, he took out my appendix. he said my stomach was super small still after 2 years from another doctor. he also was the one that found cancer in my aunts stomach from her RNY if it wasnt for him she would be dead. nothing but great comments about him!

I'm not really hungry most of the time on this diet but I am so tired of my food options. Oh well. I had my final pre-op appointment yesterday. I am so impressed by Dr. Schuster and everyone I've met on the team. The hospital is also so beautiful.

I'm getting sleeved on Wednesday so see you all on the 4th floor! ;)

I mentioned the same thing to my wife just am hour ago about being tired of the same thing with food options. I am not that hungry as well, but just sick of the diet. It is getting close and I cant wait. See you in the halls too!

How did it go for the two of you? I have Dr.Podkemini, and am hoping to have the surgery in February.
