Topic: RE: HEART BROKEN

As Kat said the alcohol must stop and stop now. You know alot of people think that this surgery will make a bad marriage good. There were issues when you had this surgery and it just made things worse.  I suggest a couple of things 1. go to a county clinic (mental health) not sure if you take meds for you bipolar disorder and get looked at. 2. get in to some couseling. you need it.
3. STOP THE ALCOHOL. IT ONLY NUMBS YOU AND DOESNT MAKE THE PROBLEM ANY BETTER. ( I wont give it too you nice a sweet. This does not require nice a sweet.)
4. get off you butt and go to edd ( unemployemnt on Monday) get help looking for work. 5. go to department of social services to apply for assistance.  if you or in your marriage you particiapted and paid into some system hopefully you can get something back.
So, get up get moving and do it. If you think it you can do it.

I am full of tough love. You need to do these things for yourself. These are suggestions and I hope that you see fit to follow thru.
Too many times suggestions are made here in situations like this and the person does not follow thru.
I wish you the best. Hope you can come back with a glimmer of hope.

Topic: RE: MOMO went HOME !

You know Ronda I know someone who forged forward with faith. 4 years ago. When I was going to Hawaishe to run the first Marathon I was talking to a fellow OH'er and  she sadi I need to get a life. I told herr to come with me. she and I met maybe very casually at a party. Said maybe 5 words to one another. We would talk back and forth on OH. So with that being said Luana came on faith and we have been close friends since. She is the sister I have never had. So I do understand. MoMo is that special person that has come into your life.
Glad you had a good time.

Topic: RE: Miracles do happen!

Lena,
Wow that was awesome. You said it all. Anyone who has come from where we were and to do what you and the rest of us has done knows what you are saying. The generosity of strangers out there banging pots and pans together sititng outside there house cutting fruit. Knowing you are running in areas where bad things happen at times. Again the humanity out there. My god you said it so well I cant say it enough.  Reading this I had tears streaming down my face. I felt every step with you. I wanted to be out there with you that day so bad. Again so very very proud of you.  The picture speak more than 1000 words. You are a true hero. Know one thing that have joined an elite group. Those who have run marathons are less then 1% population of the world.
Lena my friend you are now an ATHLETE and a HERO.
Well, with that being said I left my house this moring a bit after 5 a ran for 3 miles. Decidede I need to run LA next  year 25th anniversary baby.

Congrats.

Topic: RE: HELP! TRIWEST - CA does NOT COVER LAP FILLS?

Well, this is what i can tell youYou shouel contact Lauries office they have been paid for the surgery and you should at least be covered under the global period for the surgery within the first 90 days. I suggest you call and ask to speak to the office mgr. I think his name may be David. They got paid they need to more than likely cover you for the 90 fay globabl period..
Good Luck
Liz

.
Adjustment of Gastric Band after Bariatric Surgery

Bariatric Surgery falls under a Medicare National Coverage Determination (NCD 100.1, ref. 1.) All bariatric

surgeries which are payable by Medicare must be performed in an approved facility. Gastric banding (e.g. “Lap

Band”) is one of the covered types of bariatric surgeries. There are a series of specific CPT codes for gastric

band placement, revision, replacement, port removal, and other related surgeries (CPT codes 43770-43774 and

43886-43888). Specific local coding guidance for bariatric surgery is provided in NHIC’s Local Coverage

Determination (LCD) for Bariatric Surgery (ref. 2). This guidance provides details of coverage which are not

available in the NCD.

Gastric Band Adjustment

There is no specific code for an adjustment of the gastric band. Note that within 90 days of the original surgery,

adjustments fall within the (bundled) global period for post-operative management. There is no separate new

payment for staged adjustments that fall within the surgical global period.

Medically necessary adjustments outside the 90 day global period may be coded with CPT code 43999, unlisted

procedure, stomach. State "Gastric band adjustment” in the comment field for this unlisted code. Do not use

CPT code 90779, because this code is specifically for “intra-arterial or intravenous” injections.

Fluoroscopic guidance, if used, may be coded as CPT code 76000 {Fluoroscopy (separate procedure), up to 1

hour physician time}.

Evaluation and Management (E/M) associated with Gastric Band Adjustment (43999)

An E/M service may be charged (using modifier 25) if it is separately identifiable from the actual adjustment. For

example, an appropriate evaluation of the patient’s new complaint(s) or management issues, interval history,

physical examination, medical decision-making, etc, is payable along with the adjustment procedure itself. If the

patient had such a visit and decision-making previously, and is simply returning for the procedure, a separate

E/M service should not be charged.

Editing of Gastric Band Adjustment (43999)

Claims for gastric band adjustment are not edited as stringently as the primary bariatric surgery. For example,

the site of service does not have to be a bariatric-approved hospital and the ICD-9-CM code(s) may be different

than the original surgery (for example, the patient in question may no longer have symptomatic diabetes as he

did before the original surgery one year earlier.) Gastric band adjustment is not part of either the NCD or LCD

on bariatric surgery, and therefore reasonable community standards apply for medically necessary adjustments

Topic: RE: Genetics Appt at Stanford..

Jenn,
I have a nieve with Turners Syndrome. She is short for her age. She has done growth hormones. She goes down to Childrens Hospital in LA. They  have told my brother and his wife that she is probably sterile. She is now a sophmore in high school. They screen her for cardiac problems and renal problems. I hope that all turns out well for Chloe.
Hugs to you

Topic: Update on Lu's sister DD

Hey sorry I am not typing this until  now.  I spoke with Luana last night.  DD had a bunch of tests done last night and they are still observing her. They have not taken here back to surgery yet to fix the aortic dissection. This is below the original site from December.  The big issue is DD's lungs.  As Luana stated to me the tops of her lungs are dead. So we talked and I did tell her to ask the Dr about maybe pulmonary rehab to help get the lungs stronger.
Luana really sounded exhausted last night when we spoke.  Please keep them in your prayers and thoughts today.
