I agree your feelings are going to be all over the place, even after surgery. You are completely normal. Surgery is scary and so is change. Hang in there and remind yourself about all of the positive changes that are going to take place. Also spend a lot of time in the before and after gallery. It will keep your motivation high! Some of them are very humorous too!

Barb, have fun with your grandson today. How old is he? There is nothing better than being a Grandma or Grandpa! You can spoil them and then send them home for their parents to deal with!

Today I am thankful for. . .

The test and the lesson I have learned from them in my life. I think you don't appreciate them until you are a bit older and can look back on them and see what you really have learned.

My grandkids. I love them so much.

A new day with all sorts of possibilities.

Don't be embarrassed this whole journey is like a roller coaster with ups and downs twist and turns what you are feeling is normal as myself i'm at the end as my surgery is coming  on dec. 10 and I still fill those feelings

so just go to support groups and it will help you with your feeling

Topic: 1st Appointment...
I'm rather embarrassed to admit that I am really nervous I am having my first meeting with my surgeon tomorrow and I really wasn't expecting this much anxiety. I though I had worked through it all  while I was waiting for the approval from my insurance company... and then as I was taking my time turning in my packet... I've been approved since September. Has anyone else had this... ummm... I don't know how to describe it other than indecisiveness...???

Topic: RE: Modesto Luncheon?
It is a great idea.  We use to have these a few years ago...Many would show up.  No disrespect for Concord, but for some it is a long ways.  For me, I work on Saturdays and Sundays so I couldn't make it...but try and run with it.  One thing you would want to do is have it near Highway 99 so both north and south people have easy access.  You may want to throw it out at the monthly meeting at Memorial (behind McHenry Village).  Also they have the biweekly meeting at Bethal Church in Modesto for WLS.  The Cali Board here, isn't what it was years ago.  For many because of the recession...High speed internet had to go.  Brian  PS  It's funny (well maybe not really), my one and only dump occured right after a function we had orginized on OH...I was about 1 month out.  I had ham and a cream soup (too much butter)...Live and learn.

Topic: Anybody near Covina interested in a meet-up?
I've been eyeing the California boards waiting for someone to set-up something near me..but nothing..so I thought maybe I could just ask?

It'd be nice to get to know my neighbors!

I'm thinking something easy, though, like coffee or happy hour at the BJ's in West Covina..or even happy hour at Yard House in Monrovia, I think that's where it's at?

Since the Holidays are coming up in no time, gotta buckle up the wallet..but thought I'd just throw the idea out there.

Hey! I see your RIGHT NEXT to me!  I'm 5 years RNY post-op and love the idea of a walking partner!

We should go for walks sometime!  My husband will be starting his job soon and I'll be too big for my gym routine soon since I'm 3 months pregnant..so might have to get used to just walking for when my balance gets a bit off!

PM me if your interested!

hi,

I'm in Covina, but wouldn't mind a walking partner when I'm in the Claremont area especially since I'm going to be sporting a preggar belly in a month or two and will probably have to stop my vigorous routine at the gym soon (my fam lives and owns a business in Pomona)

I'm 5 years post-op.

PM me!

I think this is a great idea!!! I would love to make it. December 5th is mine and my husbands anniversary, so I will probably have to skip the December luncheon, but would love to make future luncheons. I have friends that are bypass patients that I will share this information with. Sounds like a plan.
