I went to Stanford and needed a PCP referral to get there. I would imagine that you would need that for Good Sam as well.
The support group meetings are the 2nd and 4th Thursday nights. The next meeting is July 22nd in the trailers in the back. Check the Good Sam website under bariatric program. The information should be there.

Good Sam has a good bariatric program and great support group meetings. That is where I go for my meetings.
Also, Stanford has a bariatric program as well which is very good too.

My husband got his initial referral in January of this year. Joe's PCP scheduled the psych eval, which he did in March before the bariatric person even called the house. In April Joe had his first bariatric appointment. Pre surgery goal weight of 34 lbs and some pre op labs we done by May and he was given his June date at that time. All told, the process took 4 months. But I have to say that Joe is very persistent and Fremont was very responsive to him.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom 2 years ago and it was so difficult. Allow yourself what you need but know what your limitations are.
I gained about 5 lbs when Mom died (she died suddenly in the middle of the night) and I haven't lost it. I don't really worry about it but I pay attention to what I eat and I am trying to step up my exercise.
You have my heartfelt prayers as you move through the stages of grieving. Know that we are here for you.
If you want to get together and talk, I live in San Jose and love to visit Santa Cruz, Capitola or any other point south!!

Dr. (David) Kaufman is also an awesome surgeon. He has a practice in Sacramento and El Dorado Hills
( I am not sure where that is in relation to you).
Joe had a total abdominoplasty (I call it the tuna can surgery) and his inner thighs done.
Dr. Kaufman did my husband's surgery before he left Valley Medical Center in San Jose some years ago. Joe (DH) didn't have any problems and is very satisified with his progress.
I am in the BA also and would love to know the status of your search!! Keep us posted.

heading out the door in 5 for 45 minutes on the bike and a plan to reestablish my C25K workout.
I started this last spring and was derailed with an injury. Have been afraid (cuz what "fat" girl can run frankly?) to get restarted but a small gain over the holidays has inspired me.

I am a transplant from NY to San Jose~There are a couple of groups but there can always be more. There are so many different styles of teaching and each leader brings something else to the table.

I order decaf, skinny caramel latte most days...sometimes I do cinnamon dolce.
My husband teases me and tells me that I just order hot, brown water!!
I did venture to try a tall peppermint mocha (dumped a bit) and the new caramel brulee latte but this would be very dangerous for me...lots of cals, fat and sugar.
whichever you decide to try, enjoy it and the company of those you are with! If you are alone~enjoy the time to take a deep breath and as my 13 yo says "chillax"!!

I hope that everyone had a great Thankgiving with their family and friends!
Last year, someone started a card exchange on our forum. I was decorating for Christmast today (my parents are coming next week and we needed a jump start) and found the cards/envelopes.
I would like to do this again.

If it's Valley Fair, they have a great Build a Bear store!! When my kids were small, they loved going there!!
