Topic: RE: 32 days post op

Thank you so much for your help.  It is really nice to hear from someone who actually had this procedure done with the same surgeon.  I am so happy to hear everything is going so well and the surgery went well also.  I have a baby and I fear of something terrible happening to me.
Did you talk to a lot of people who had the procedure done to reduce your fears?

Also, I read a lot on this site for people that have had RNY-that you can go back to old habits of not eating healthy-do you think a long term support group would be helpful?  I only ask because there isn't one in the town where I live-but there is one online here at OH.
Thanks again for your help!

One more thing - you asked how I came to chose Dr. Chae. A friend of mine's husband had it done by Dr. Chae. She was in my accounting class and highly recommended him. I did my research and really liked what I learned. Thus, I went with him.

SkyRidge are very attentive and made me feel very comfortable. The anaesthesiologist was also very good.

The recovery wasnt bad at all. I was in very little pain if any. I didnt get much sleep and getting to the bathroom was a pain because I was all hooked up. Yet, all in all, it went very smoothly.

You will be uncomfortable for probably a month afterward. Once things begin to heal and you are on pureed foods, you will really begin to notice a difference. The 10-14 days of pure liquids are tough but its a good way to begin the healing.

Youre in really good hands.

All the best!

 Hi!

You are in REALLY good hands with Dr. Chae. He is a great surgeon and his team are excellent as well.

I had the RNY. It was the best decision I EVER made. It went very smoothly although I was scared during the prep. However, the nurses at

Congratulations on your success!!!  I currently have just begun my 6 month pre-qual for insurance purposes, so I am praying they approve me and I can finally get my surgery scheduled.  I have chosen Dr. Chae also for my RNY.  Did you have RNY surgery?  Can you tell me how your surgery went?

I am so very scared this may actually happen and I want to be as prepared as possible.  Can I ask, were you in a lot of pain after surgery?  I pray you weren't!!!!  Can I ask how you came about choosing Dr. Chae as your surgeon?

Anything helpful you can tell me would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,
I was searching this site for a support group in Pueblo and came across this posting.  Can you please tell me if this information is still accurate or do you know as this posting is from quite some time ago.  I am new to Pueblo-and currently started my 6 month prequalification for ins. approval (hopefully).  Any information you may have would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks

Hello Charlie Turner!
I was searching on this site to see if there were any support groups here in Pueblo and came across your question.  I realize your posting was from quite some time ago, but I am in the process of doing my 6 month diet/exercise program to (hopefully) be approved for WLS and was wondering if you were ever able to find a local support group here in Pueblo.  Please let me know if you did.  I have many questions for people that have gone through this.  I am 43 and live here in Pueblo!
Thanks!

Topic: RE: Anyone in the North-West Denver area?
Hi, Harmony!  I am just 6 days post op, with a lapband.  Just checking out this site, as I live in Colorado... Tell me more about you!  I am 56, live in Johnstown, have grown children, and am excited about my new journey into weight loss!  I have had a weight problem, off and on, for the last 38 years.  My normal weight in high school was around 130 lbs, but, with the birth of two children and laziness, I got up to 291!  I lost 17 lbs before surgery, and am now at 266... It has been a bit of a mental challenge to be on liquids, for two weeks, but, I only have a week to go on them.  I had my surgery done in Greeley and ended up in the hospital the day after surgery for  some steroids and re-hydration.. all is good, now!  Would love to chat with you, if you are interested!  Debbie

Topic: RE: Zero Calorie Isopure Ready to Drink Protein Drinks
Hey, recently I have been looking for options other than a surgical procedure. For months now I have been hearing about herbalife. Just like everything else I was skeptical. It was just like everything else out there....but I figured I have tried so many other products that failed. Now that I just read this post about how those drinks made you sick I wanted to tell you how herbalife shakes taste. I personally have been taking them for 2 weeks as a meal replacement, honestly they are just like a milkshake. I also thought it would be hard not to eat anything on top of the shake itself. But there are 3 basic programs that are offered. I chose to use the ultimate weight loss package. It was reasonablly priced and I received a bunch of stuff. When I wake up in the morning I make a formula 1 shake with protien and add a banana for extra taste. In addition to the shakes I take 4 pills. One for my heart, 2 multivitamins, and one last one to reduce my apatite. I have easily droped 10 lbs my first two weeks. These products are packed with vitamins and provide all natural weightloss. Seriously a life saver.
my bestfriend is a distributor so I got started right away.
take a look at zmunson.greatshapetoday.com
this is one of the best programs I've ever tried they have the best tasting and fastest working products. Best of all they have been helping people since 1980, wish I would have found this years ago. Let me know what you think....
best of luck

Either would work for me, I could meet you there Saturday or Sunday. Let me know when and we can meet up. Or I was thinking I have a gift card for max muscle for 52 $ if you would want it instead and you can buy a dry protein with it. They have great selections of no carb whey proteins . That sounds good! I'm in Lakewood, near the Federal Center. Would you want to meet somewhere in Arvada? I don't know the area very well, but I might be going to a movie at the Olde Town theater Saturday night, or Sunday morning. Let me know what you think? And good luck with your surgery and congrats to your spouse!

Topic: Zero Calorie Isopure Ready to Drink Protein Drinks
I have 20 bottles of Isopure zero calorie protein drinks, if anyone is interested in them.  I bought 2 case (12 each) to drink during my 10 days of clear liquid diet, but couldn't drink them. They made me sick, for some reason, although I know others that drank them with no problem at all!  I paid $80 for them at GNC (and that was the sale price!), so I would be willing to let them go for a LOT cheaper than that.  If anyone is interested, just let me know how much you would pay for them.  I could bring them to you if you are in the Denver area. I live in Lakewood, so Lakewood, Golden, Arvada, Wheatridge, Littleton, etc.
Oh, the flavors I have are 10 of Ice Orange and 10 of Pineapple Orange Banana.

Topic: RE: MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!
If you submit a req for an appointment on their website you may be able to get things started prior to going to the seminar. I did. Cause there is something that you can already work on like your labs, xrays, and EKG. You can also start your psych eval. There is one Psychologist that I know of that accepts medicaid. You do still have to pay her $65.00 for a fee for the paperwork but atleast you can get those appointments out of the way. I had to wait like a month to see the Dr. So it was nice getting everything else going while I waited and I attended the seminar the day before my appt with the DR. You also have to pay 225.00 for the dietician. Right now I am just waiting on my approval from medicaid.

Thank you so much.  I have been thinking about this.  You have eased my mind.  This is the first year that I have considered surgery.  I know that by dieting, I have had many failed attempts and gain more weight.  Thank you for answering my question.  Planning to attend a seminar hopefully Feb. 9, but possibly in March due to my brother in laws failing health with cancer.

Call Dr Georgescu office and set up an appt. You will have to go to a seminar but it doesnt matter what your PCP says if you have ahigh enough BMI u should be a ccandidte and they handle it all for you. And they only accept the traditional medicaid. They are awesome.
