Topic: RE: Six Months Out
Congratulations!!  Lisa C had some great advice--I agree with her!!  I'm more than 18 months out and still doing great but have stopped loosing.  I'm trying not to re-gain but it's nice to have a cushion.  Loose as much as possible in the first 18 months!!  Then you can cruise a bit more.  All the best!!
Topic: RE: Moving to CT
I can't believe I have lived in CT now for almost 8 months! I still feel so new--boxes still needing to be unpacked (about 100 of them in the basement!!)...haven't gone to a support group, haven't found a doctor, haven't gone to a dentist, haven't done much I guess!! UGH! Moving is a pain!!! I MUSt get organized!! I found this old post to re-look-up the advice you all gave me--thank you again!! I'm going to look up the support group meeting schedule and try to make it there some time!!

We ended up moving to Madison about a mile from the beach--turned out to be a good distance because I find myself wanting to see the water almost every day so I have taken up running and I run down to the beach and back!!

Take care everyone and hope to get back in touch!!

That's so funny--I'm realizing the same thing about here!  I've been here for 11 years and I'm still lost!!  Also, there are so many local places I've meant to visit and haven't gotten to yet!!!
Take care!!

Thanks for the message!  It's nice to hear that you love it there and that it's a great place for children and families.  Where did you move from?  Where you relocated for work?  So glad to hear good news of moving to CT!  I need all the support I can get!!  :)  I'm sure it will go fine but you know it's so stressssssfullll!!!!  Oh--and how did your kids do?  And how old are they? (I have an 8 year old and a 12 year old, both girls.  They're handling it better than I am....)
Take care,
Kristen

Thanks so much, Dan!  I will definitely join the support group!!  I go to the one here every chance I get.  Great that your neighbor has a sail boat!  I will have to give her a call when I get there!!  Thanks!  I am in the midst of boxes here trying to de-clutter so we can get the house on the market....UGH!  Trying not to eat from all the stress....must get back to journaling!!!!

Cool--I guess I will need a surgeon to follow up with.  And how about a physician...?  Any suggestions?  I want one who knows the ins and outs of what medications I can and can't have....
Thanks!!

Glad you're doing well!!  How old are your kids?  I have an 8 year old and a 12 year old, both girls.  (3rd and 6th grades).  I can't imagine having 4!!  2 keep me busy all the time!!  You must be really organized!!  You're going to love going to the beach next summer!!  :)  With your new bod!!  I know I can't wait!!!

Thanks for responding and thanks for the tip!  We were thinking it would be cool to be close to the beach but a shorter commute sure is appealing too!  Do you go to the beach a lot?  I want to take up sailing...!  Looks like you just had your surgery!  How are you doing??  I hope everything went smoothly!  My surgery was in May so I'm 9 months out now.  So happy I did it!
Topic: RE: Moving to CT
By the way--good luck on your upcoming surgery!!!!!!  All the best!!

Hi  and thanks for responding!!  I will have to look at the Middlesex Hospital!  Thanks for the reference!  I had my surgery last May (RNY) here so now I just need a support group and a physician.  I'm going to look at the map to see where everything is.  We visited the area a little bit last weekend--it was our first time in CT!  It was pretty indeed.  I'll let you know when I get there--it will be good to have some contacts!!!!!!
Topic: RE: New to the Middletown area...
I'm moving to CT too...not sure where Middletown is. Not sure where anything is!! Just starting the process. Just wanted to say good luck to you!!!

Hi!  I'm moving to Connecticut to the Madison/Guilford area. I'll be looking for a support group in the area as well as a physician who is gastric-bypass savy.  Any recommendations?  Also, any positives on Connecticut and the area would be MOST welcome!  We weren't planning on going anywhere but hubby got transferred to Wallingford...any location advice?  Hubby's colleagues suggest Madison and Guilford.
