Somewhere along the line I thought I saw a scale that showed what % of excess body weight DSers lost after surgery. 1st month, quarter, 6 months, etc.???

Also, how do you figure your excess body weight?

Gina (majormom) on the LW board will be able to give you the most accurate figures for LW's. Our percentages may be similar to everyone else but the amount sure isn't cause we don't have nearly as much to lose.

Starting weight
Minus
Weight that is your "goal weight"
Equals
Amount of weight you need to lose

You take the:
amount of weight you have lost
divide it by
the amount of weight you need to lose
which equals
the percent of your total you have lost

So every time you calculate the amount you have lost, divided by the total you need to lose, the percentage will change.

 Do you mean this?
25% EWL at 2 months.
50% EWL at 6 months
80% EWL at 12 months
I think this puts you on track to "lose it all"

That's it exactly! I wasn't sure how to express it. Now I have targets plus great ways to track my weight loss.

I can tell you from my experience that I lost about 40% of my excess weight in about four months, and that I reached 100% EWL at 26 months.(Which I could also express as OH **** IT TOOK TWO WHOLE YEARS TO LOSE ALL MY WEIGHT OH HORRORS!!) I floated up about fifteen pounds, or a whopping 6% regain, at about 36-38 months out. I have just spent two weeks concentrating harder on protein, all from food, none from supplements (STEAK anyone?), and the fifteen pounds are all gone.

I LOVE MY DS.
