Hi. I'm new here ... just had DS on Jan 9, 2017.  I'm feeling very good.  I'm very optimistic about the future after reading many posts here and on other "bariatric boards".

My surgeon was Dr. Jon Bruce, Bariatric Specialists of NC. My pre-op and post-op experience with Dr Bruce, his staff, and UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC has been awesome.

Welcome aboard, Jim. Congratulations on having your DS. I happy to hear they are doing the DS at Rex.

I also had my DS at Rex, were you on the 7th floor?  The care is great, my experience was so good!  I had my surgery 2 years ago and have met my goal weight plus.  I'm healthier and happier than I've ever been.  Please feel free to reach out if you have questions, we Raleighites need to stick together!
