My surgeon/hospital is in St Petersburg. For your cousin, that would probably be a drive of several hours but he is SOOOOOOOOOO worth it. Dr. Ernest Rehnke at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Website is obesitynomorefl.com.
Best of luck to her.

Red Hi Red
I will be having the lapband. I never really thought about hand delivery as it is over an hour trip for me. But I will keep it in mind if I don't have a date soon. On Sept 18th I am going for a Radio Frequency Neurotomy for my spine. This Radio Frequency Neurotomy should allow me to walk without my canes. If I have to do as much walking as everyone who had lapband says I do , I wanted the spine taken care of before the WLS. So sometime in October. for the WLS is good for me.

You and your daughter, however, may want to consider an option with more long-term success and better results that the Lap band. It can work for many, but at her current weight, your daughter is a much better candidate for RNY or DS. I understand the surgery is more drastic, but this is something that should be done only once. The stats for banding just aren't that impressive.
Good luck. If you let us know where in FL your daughter lives, I'm sure we can point you in the right direction. |

I do not know what you know about this Dr and history. I came from Ft Lauderdale and had a co-worker that went with him...he did the process via laparocopy rather than open...within 1yr post-op she had major complications and was rushed to hospital he said nothing was wrong just the healing process. She was taken to hospital and another Dr ended up being called in he opened her and her intentines twisted...So again she went thru the process )open so suggestion is check out all available info via AMA etc...
Best of luck |

I am hoping someone can recommend an awesome surgeon. She will most likely be self pay and really wants it done at a hospital that does them as day surgery, so she will be back home that night. Any insight will be greatly appreciated! |
