Welcome to Florida and good luck on your surgery. I am 8 years post op. I run a support group for veterans in Hollywood, Fl. I am organizing a social event on Friday evening, Sept 19th. I am organizing a 'Meet & Greet' for Friday evening, Sept 19th in the Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale area. There will be several surprise out of town guests who are coming to town. Everyone is welcome. It will be Dutch Treat for dinner. I choose a place that has good menu options and is flexible. Just come and 'Meet & Greet' and have fun.

Hi

A Meet & Greet is much the same as a gtg. We pick a venue that is accomodating to our needs and everyone meets there. It is usually a restaurant with a private room and has good menu options. I run these every year before our conferences. This way if there are people from out of town attending, we all get to know each other a little better in a socail setting before the conference.

The conference which will be a full day on Saturday and is located in Hollywood. We have special speakers, vendors and fun classes going on. This is also going to be our annual Sampling Event where vendors send product samples and all attendees go home with bags full of goodies. The Friday night meet and greet is after business hours and is just social.

Everyone is welcome to attend. I am looking for a location in the Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale vicinity. It would be great if we can all meet together.

I was devastated when I heard of Vickie's sudden passing. Although I only got to see her at OH events or when she was in Hollywood to visit Dr. Shuster we became good internet friends. I have fond memories of Vickie as a beautiful fashion model at the OH event in Ft. Lauderdale. I will miss her beautiful smile. I too had an obstructed bowel in July 2007 when I was 7 years post op. Please send my sincere condolences to Vickie's family.

We meet the third Thursday of each month at the Esther Grossman Center located at 4320 Sheridan Street, Hollywood, Fl 33021. Our meeting is from 7 - 8:30 pm. I run a support group for Veteran patients. Most general doctors are not really aware of our special needs and requirements. You are welcome to come to my meeting and ask other members about their general doctors. We are meeting Thursday, 7/17 at 7 pm in Hollywood. Do not sell yourself short. You have come a long way and deserve a quality surgeon. Plastic surgery is still 'surgery'. You must choose the best surgeon available because your life is at stake. Yes, we all just want to look better but we all want to survive the process and be happy and healthy when we are done. My surgeon is Dr. Bernard Shuster in Hollywood, Fl.
