Hate to do this but I need to hand off the planning to someone else. It's very easy - pick a date/time and place and post it here. I also try to post on some of the other boards when I get a chance but I don't do it everytime.

Anyway - I'm done planning them so whoever wants to can start planning them now.

I didn't have an RNY so I can't answer most of your questions (looks like others can and have) but I would think at 4-5 weeks out that you can do it. We just go to a local restaurant, sit and chat - and eat. I went to my first one about 4 weeks out and I could only eat like 3 bites but it was worth going to meet other people in the area. We have a really fun group - they keep me entertained for sure! Hope you can make it - I'll post details soon.

Try Dr. Beltre - I think he does the VSG at Celebration...or Dr. Gagner in Miami at Mount Sinai - he's one of the top (if not THE top) in the field.
