Topic: RE: support group
Hello Everyone
I am going to be in Waikiki in March 2012 and wondering if anyone knows of a support group going on in the area.  I would love to take one in.
I had RNY May 2010.
Looking forward to hearing from some of you.

Topic: Support Group in Waikkii
Hello
I will be visiting Waikkii in March and wondering if there are any support meetings going on that I can attend.  Also since I won't be able to bring all the Protein stuff that I need for 3 weeks I was wondering if anyone can tell me where to purchase items while I am there.
Thanks for your ideas.
Looking forward to meeting other WLS friends.

Topic: LGBT forum invitation
Hello,
I just wanted to let people know and anyt there is a forum for the community and anyone who is friendly and want to stop by. I was very active 3 years ago and would like to see it become active again.   It is listed under  "weight loss related"

I am not attempting to offend anyone. I understand that some might not agree with me posting. I am doing it to help LGBT people. Everyone has the right to not agree. I respect that.

Thank you so much for your time. I hope you don't mind a few more questions.....

1. My daughter read a book that said that one side of the island should still be okay for swimming. Is she right or wrong ?

2. Can you recommend a great Mexican restaurant ?

3. What is the one thing you would recommend us seeing ?

Thanks
Lisa

It's not humid right now. Just a light windbreaker is needed for the evenings. I get cold just when the wind blows...since i lost the weight....LOL

During winter, this is normal.....totally normal!!

It's still 80 degrees but it's been rainy lately. No beach weather lately.

Topic: RE: Dr.Fowler at Castle
I have changed my profile as well.  I am now KauaiLulu.

I am a 46 y.o. female.  The quoted amount was "about $19,000" but after my trip to Oahu last week and meeting with the surgeon and the whole staff, they said we would receive a 25% discount for paying cash bringing it down to $14,250.00 so that was a pleasant surprise.

My insurance (HMSA - HMO) would only cover the sleeve if my BMI was 66 or above so that was not an option for me.  After much research, the sleeve is really the only surgery that I want performed on me.  So I look at it as an investment in my health.

They have a comprehensive program with pre- and post-surgery requirements but not nearly as long as other programs.

Let me know what questions you have and I will try to answer them for you.

Mahalo,

Lulu

Yes he does.  I live on Kauai and just got back from my meeting with him, the diet and fitness people and have my follow-up appointments booked for the next month.

Hoping for VS surgery in late July or early August.  I very much liked the doctor and all of the people running the center.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Mahalo,

Lulu

Although I don't have any answers for you!  I am very happy to see that you might be in Kauai. Since we have relocated I am really missing my support group.  I have researched and been unable to find any here on island.

Topic: mexico surgeons/ my concern is aftercare.
This Hawaii message board is a sad place to try to get info about much of anything regarding weight loss surgery.  Nevertheless, here I go.

Has anyone out there, in Hawaii,  gotten weight loss surgery in Mexico?  If so were you able to get any kind of aftercare in Hawaii?  I have heard that American Dr's. are reluctant to and real creeps about taking in  patients who have gotten their surgeries in Mexico.

Any answers here????????????????????
