Well I am off to N.Y. today I am looking forward to seeing my family, Things are good with
me I have been keeping my same weight since I lost all my weight.
Its been 1 year 4 months. My girlfriend is happy also she new me before I started my weight lose
since my surgery.

It has been a busy few days for me.  Thank you everyone for your kind words over the loss of Tigger.  He is really missed  I picked up a paw print the vet did yesterday.  It is a really nice keepsake.  I have never had a vet do that before.  This is a new vet that bought out the practice and it is such a nice idea!

I enjoyed time with my great niece and nephews, sister and brother in law.  Boy, the kids have changed!  I knew they would but to see it is amazing.  They are such cute kids.  Typical boys.  But all are good at creative self play.  I never heard the phrase "i'm bored" once and there was no TV.  Mostly outdoor play!  Ages were 3, 5, and 7.  Amazing!  Also interesting the changes that have occurred in the area over the last 3 years.  

Dawn, I am so sorry about Liv's ear problems.  I know it was a huge disappointment for her for her camp.  I am glad that she is not letting it stop her.  Hope she has a blast!  Hang in there with David.  I agree with someone's advice.  Just feed him and let him fend for himself for the rest.  

Lisa, I ope your unemployment kicks in soon.  That should be a hefty check for back pay when they finally get it right!  

Chris, I hope Dave is feeling better.

Crystal,  Not much longer until you are back on your own.

Have fun in NY.  Time with family is always good and NY is fun, I hear.

The CT Scan showed that the bone is not completely healed.  The back half is healed nicely and all hardware is in place but the front part is still unhealed.  He again asked me if I smoke.......
Now, I have to try a bone stimulator.  Someone needs to call me to set that up.  I will use it 30 minutes per day and it "should" unduce healing.

Liv seems tobe having a good time although I haven't actually talked to her after she requested I send some stuff to her that she forgot.

We got about 15 minutes of RAIN last night!  It was so awesome.....we all stood out in it and soaked it up!  It was funny to see everyone come outside to look at it and feel it!

Lisa----good luck with unemployment.  I am thinking I might head in that direction but am worried about health insurance if I did.

Gotta get back to work!

Another thought for Randy is the website for Diners, Drive-ins and Dives at foodnetwork.com. There are lots of places in Chicago and for the most part the restaurants Guy Fieri goes to make everything from scratch and are inexpensive. I know there are places I'd check out if I lived in the city.

Also preached my sermon at Pacidic Garden Mission last night.  That is a very impressive ministry they have there.

Cleaned up the area where the homeless folks and the folks escaping the heat in the SRO sit along with the little old derelict me.  Many will throw there trash away or clean up the area when they are in the right frame of mind or state of soberness.  I am sure the Irving Park Hotel folks minds are fried right now.  They complained for four days about a bad smell that was found on Sunday to be a dead body.

So sorry I have been AWOL!!  I do read everyday, I just need to post more often.  Summer marches on.  Chloe is staying with me, as always for the summer and home on weekends.  She is growing up so fast...7th grade when school starts.  Roxie misses her when she goes home, and I find her laying on Chloe's bed! 

Not much else new with me.  Looking for short little overnight stays to take Chloe to some hotel swimming pools, but don't want to do the big swim park thing, and stay closer to home, so working on that!

Work is good.  We have been busy selling cedar, so good for us.

Karen, sorry about your husband's health issue and job loss.  Sounds very frustrating.  Good luck.  Will throw up a few prayers for both of you!

Crystal, bet you can't wait to move.  When does that happen?  I've lived alone, too, for quite awhile and it would be tough to move in with other people!  Sounds like your new job is much more "fun" and nicer people than your last one.

Got out today to 5200 N Lincoln for Taste tickets then to Walmart express on Broadway south of Irving Park to get some gift cards for the GKs.  DIL loves WalMart.  Walked from Irving Park down but it got warm so I took the bus back up.  Folks seem in a much better mood than they were before the heat wave.  I guess it is the old you don't know what you got until you don't got it no more and then happy to get it back going on.

Supposedly the Taste this year is supposed to have more "taste" items instead of full servings. Yeah, when I see it I will believe it. Let us know if they do. In the past it always been the taste items were junk or full of sugar.

The "Taste" was what it was supposed to be a "taste" of one of the best that a restaurant had to offer AND it was supposed to be at a reduced cost.

Unfortuately, we will not make it to the Taste this year as Dave is afraid of the crowds and the bumbing around that his arm might get. Oh well, there will be one again next year.

I am expecting to meet all that you have mentioned.  Looking forward to getting out and mulling around though as well as eliminating restaurants without going to them, going in, being hungry so ordering then being disappointed at full serving prices.

I see progress each day and he and I are sleeping better. The pain level is still there to a certain extent. PT started yesterday and he was really tired today. I do not like not sleeping in the same room with him but Davey is uncomfortable laying in bed because he is limited in how he can sleep so it is the recliner for him. It is a timely thing for his bathtime but we get through it.

Itasca Fest is coming up and I have a table at the Flea Market (Saturday) (see itasca.com for details) again this year for my jewelry. My nephew will also be there with his functional wood products made from reclaimed wood. See his website at intothewoodshop.com

Today was a bit of a long day for me. Went to work and spilled my pureed chili at lunch. Gah. I'm only almost 3 weeks out and I really didn't want to eat any more pudding. Then I got sent on the field trip with the bigger kiddos to...Dairy Queen, The smell of all that sugar and milk just made me nauseous.

Husband, daughter, and I did do some grocery shopping and they are changing their eating habits as well, so it was nice to go shopping for things that (eventually) we will all be able to eat! 

Tomorrow is the middle of the week! I go for my B12 injection and a follow up with my PCP after work. Next week I get to go back to my classroom! I miss my kiddos!

Best wishes on getting back to the classroom.  I am interested on seeing how you do with the VSG.  My surgeon was great but the liability and the emotional impact of those of us who do die no matter how good the docs are had him ready to retire and his department ready to quit doing the RNY.  I was sold on the RNY since the removal of the section of intestine would mean in a majority of cases that eating processed carbs would give negative feedback.  The VSG was offered by another surgeon and indeed I think it is a good surgery but I know myself well enough to know that a trip to dairy Queen with others would include my having some soft serve.

It is definitely not for everyone. I have great self-control, just crappy genes that gave me this deteriorating thyroid that helped me gain like crazy. I'll keep you all updated. Tomorrow I weigh in for 3 weeks post-op!
