Hello friends,

I went to the doctor today for my yearly physical. She was very pleased with how I'm doing except I need to exercise more. Ya think? I know it, I just don't do it. Otherwise I'm good for another year.

today is Kay's birthday so we are going out to dinner with the same friends we always celebrate birthdays with. We're going to Abreo which is owned by the same man who owns Social, so it's like dining with personal friends.

I posted a number of the knitting projects I've done this year on Facebook. I haven't been able to post them very well on this page. So if you want to see them on FB, they are under Connie Garry. I think I'm already FB friends with most of you. I've go another scarf blocking and two almost done.

Hi friends,

I found a cute picture of me with my dad which I put on Facebook this morning. This pic amuses me to no end. I always said I'd never talk back at the TV like he did and I do it all the time. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

Kay enjoyed the hostas in Milwaukee and now is trying to figure out where to plant them. I'm knitting and hanging out on FB. This is a typical day for us. I love this unstructured life!

Good evening tornado evaders!

What a deal! As I said on FB we've been in the basement twice this month but only five times in 27 years! What's wrong with this picture?

I went to knitting this AM but all of us were watching the sky. I enjoyed my friends but was happy to be home. I don't want hail marks on my car, that's for sure. Kay went to bunko tonight against my better judgment but she has to make her own decisons. She always thinks the weather people exaggerate. I guess worrying is more my thing.

I have four rows left on a new shawl, so if I got off the computer I might get it done. LOL

IT's looking like a beautiful day here. We went to the Farmer's Market last night and had the best couscous I've ever eaten. We also had a falafel which was also great. Then we went to Kortmann's for an art opening. It was a beautiful evening and so nice to be outside and running into friends.

Today is the first day of Worldwide Knit in Public week and I'll be doing my part!

Nancy, the eye surgery was kind of a necessity since my eyelids were affecting my vision. I am amazed that there was so little bruising and that I feel comfortable being out in public already! I certainly wouldn't consider plastic surgery just to look younger. (that ship has sailed)  I did have to get up some courage to do this but I'm glad it's over and that it went well. I do love the UW in Madison. They have been good to me!

Good morning!

Well I am off to Madison to have surgery on my eyelids. I hope it goes well and that I can wear my contacts again. I am a bit anxious as the last time I had surgery it turned into an ordeal. Take deep breaths....

I know I have to "stay quiet" for a few weeks. That seems like my normal life, with the addition of two black eyes. We'll see what specifically the doctor says.

That's my Monday and I'll be in Madison over night.

Hi folks!

We have a Black and Decker coffee machine that works like a keurig but only cost $20. It also allows you to use your own coffee instead of buying those expensive cuplets. We like Jadabug Roasters which is a local coffee, roasted in Rockford. It's the best we've ever had. You can order it online.

No big plans for today except the downtown Farmer's Market starts tonight. Hope the rain cooperates! We didn't have any damage yesterday but I was wondering about those of you who are south of here. Some of the predictions were pretty bad. Glad I don't live in Kansas or Oklahoma! I did live in OK for two years--too hot for me!

Hi folks!

Went to spinning this morning and then was able to pick up my car. I had gotten hit in a parking lot and had to have the right front panel replaced.The shop had it while I was gone so I didn't have to rent a car. The shop even washed and detailed the car INSIDE which was a surprise to me. It was even cheaper than I expected. Wonderful wonderful!!!

Then later I went to the Bookworm and spent the day getting up to date with Rhiannon, the owner. that was great because the rest of the week she'll be too busy to chat! Also have been making Facebook connections with some of the women we met in ***** Cana. We are still reeling from the connections we made to people at the resort. Absolutely amazing! Besides the women we met from OH, we also met two who work in a bariatric clinic in CA. That was pretty awesome also!

Good morning!

We got home last night from ***** Cana after an amazing trip. We met such a spectacular group of women and had some life changing experiences with them. Neither Kay nor I can quite process everything that happened. I'm glad we can talk to each other about it because I don't know how to express the profoundness to someone who wasn't there. Besides the Club Med was beautiful, the food was excellent, the entertainment wonderful too. I even got a bit of a tan which is generally impossible for me.

I met a couple from New jersey who seemed very familiar and we thought we knew each other but couldn't figure out the connection. The next day we realized it was from the GLBT board on OH! We'd be in frequent contact 5 years ago when we first had surgeries. What a small world!

Back to reality. We are going to Social for brunch and back to O'Hare to pick up our Global Acess certifications so we can go through the short security lines around the world. Yeah!

Good morning friends,

Today is for packing and a last load of wash. Other than that, I haven't much to do. We tend to get ready early. I did find an old swim suit top that needs to be taken in and then it will be kind of cute with my swim shorts. I don't know that I will go in the water but who knows? I gave myself a mani/pedi last night and it looks just as good as the ones I paid big bucks for! LOL

I've not had a replacement but my friends who have had one or both say that after the first one the rest are better because the rehab had put you in better shape. Everyone I know has kept up the rehab after the prescribed time and so the second knee or second hip is stronger and the recovery shorter. I hope you hear from some OHers who actually had the surgery, but this is what I've heard.

Good morning!

Had a nice day yesterday and don't have any significant plans for today. there's a book I want to read and this might be a nice day to curl up with a comforter and read. It looks like it might rain here. I'm really enjoying the spring flowers and trees--colors everywhere!
