Topic: RE: OH Indiana CookBook
I also love the idea. I have a collection of cookbooks that I hardly ever use but still have my favorites that I go to when I need something. I need new ideas on good foods that are good for me.
Topic: RE: Update: Back to basics
I am so glad that you are having a good week. I am pre-op and have read many many times BASICS work. Keep it up.
Topic: RE: Trouble in paradise!! advice needed!!!
I agree with everything the previous posters have said. It is a tough road but if she is old enough to drink then she should be responsible enough to suffer the consequences if she does not drink responsibly. The car is yours take it back and don't let your financial responsibility go down the drain on someone that can't act responsibly. Sever your ties until she can act like a responsible adult. You did not force her to drink and drive. Don't make yourself sick and worry over her actions.
Topic: RE: Praise God! I am approved! Whoopie
Congratulations!!!!! I am so happy for you. Was it your first time applying or did you have to jump through some hoops to get it approved? I to am hoping to get approval soon. I think I have jumped through the last of the hoops by getting more paperwork and cardiac evaluations done. I will look forward to hearing your surgery date.
Topic: RE: Technology wizard!
You are way too funny. It sounds like something I would do so I can't laugh at you just with you. But you know this lesson learned will be the first thing you try in the future.
Topic: RE: Here we go again!!
I know I was telling a lady at work today (BTW she is a little older than I am) that when we were kids we were snowed in for days on end several times a year and we didn't have to run to the store to get bread and milk. What was wrong with making your own biscuits!!!!! And also we had our own supply of powdered mlk in case we ran out of the regular cow kind. She said " I think I could be snowed in for a couple of days and still not have to go to the store except for cat food because she has 3 felines and she said they would drive her crazy with the meowing because they didn't like what she was feeding them!!! People are just nuts. And you know there are some out there that will just HAVE to go someplace and then call a police agency to find out how the roads are, not realizing the police dispatchers are busy talking to policemen/women that are helping someone else that just had to go someplace and then got into trouble sliding off the road or running out of gas or breaking down while the person answering the phone is sitting behind a desk inside. Either don't go or take your chances!!!!
Topic: RE: Great Day for Lounging Around
Today I have just sat in my easy chair and watched the birds on my patio deck. So far today I have seen cardinals, blue jays, juncos, chickadees along with the usual sparrows, starlings, and morning doves. I have just had a great time just sitting and watching who are the dominate birds. I know I should be up doing something but it is just good to just let the mind wander aimlessly sometimes.
Topic: RE: Another Q
My primary care physician told me to ask for Dr. Jones when I called St. V's because he had heard she had the best results. I did and then I asked the 2nd question does she take my kind of insurance and low and behold she DIDN'T. I then asked who took my kind of insurance and Dr. Huse did so I attended his seminar. I then did some research and found out he actually started the Center of Excellence with another doctor. The seminars as I understand it are free, it is only if you decide to stay and consult one on one with the surgeon is when it costs money that your insurnace may or may not pay for. My initial consult with Dr. Huse cost $225 and thus far my insurance has paid it.
Topic: RE: How my surgery went !
I too have been wondering how everything went for you. I am so so sorry that you have had a really rough time. I am hoping to have surgery and Dr. Huse is my surgeon choice and it does comfort me that your may have turned the corner and he has got you through this. I will continue to think of you often.

Sherri my thoughts are with you. I know someone that had testicular cancer and he is okay now. Just know that cancer treatment has improved so much in the last few years and there are many more successes than there used to be. My granddaughter just got a clean bill of health. She is 15 and had Hodgkins lymphoma which is cancer of the lymph nodes. She had 4 rounds of chemo, lost her hair and was sick on week one of each treatment. That did not kill all the cancer cells so she did 14 days of radiation which did not affect much except her voice was raspy and had a sore throat. but now she is cancer free!!!! Good luck to your son.
Topic: RE: Local Support Group
I agree with what Linda said. That listing has 2 of your city choices. I live between Bunker Hill and Peru and I am going to start going to the one in Kokomo. I am still pre-op though. The site you are on seems like a wonderful group of people and they are having clothing exchanges about every 3 months and you just missed one. Apparently they move it around and they had one last fall in Kokomo.
Topic: RE: Hello, reintroducing myself................finally got approved
Congratulations on your authorization. I know you will find the inner strength get through the pre-testing.
Topic: RE: New to posting
Hello all, I have been reading all of the posts for a couple of weeks now. This is my first post. I am hoping to have surgery and I am still in the authorization stage. I did not know that before anything was submitted to my insurance I needed the psych eval so since I now know I go on Monday for them to tell mef I am wired correctly. I enjoy reading the support all of you give each other. I read that many of you are state employees. I am to but I work for the State Police. I enjoy my job immensely. But we all know that state employees are overworked and underpaid. I feel a little guilty today because I took a sick day again today. I have contacted a cold and I stayed home yesterday and slept all day, today I could have gone to work but there is a lady there that is a bad asthmatic and she catches every little bug that goes around and I just did not want to give this to her. I used the antibacterial cloths and sprays on Wednesday when I was working because I had deadlines that had to be met.
