Weight Loss Surgery Directory

I just reached goal this week!

I just reached goal this week and I feel pretty numb about the whole thing!  I more or less stared at those last 3 pounds on the scale and figured they'd go away whenever they felt like it!  I didn't do anything in particular to hasten their retreat.

The doc never suggested any kind of maintenance plan and since I never got to maintenance at WW, I guess I will continue what I have been doing until something else occurs to me.

It certainly has been a wonderful "ride" with some "stucks" and "slimes" but other than that, no problems.  I have 8mm in my Realize Band and it took me 1 year and 11 months (almost) to get here.

I am very happy that I went looking for lapband surgery and that everything went so smoothly.  It has been rewarding reading everyone's experience with their band.

                          Way to go Marti!

Congratulations Marti, I always enjoy reading your post!!

Congrats!  I bet numb is one of the best feelings you've ever had - lol!      You should post some pictures so we can see you journey.   Keep up the good work!

FANTASTIC!!!! UNABLE TO FIND A WORD THAT MEASURES UP TO HOW I IMAGINE YOU MUST FEEL.!!! CONGRATULATIONS.

BEST WISHES!!
Congrats to you.  That has to be an awesome feeling.  Very inspiring for me to hear.  I'll bet there are a lot of banders here online at goal who could give you some pointers.

Good luck maintaining and living your life at a healthy weight!

Hurray for you, Marti!

When I reached goal, I was a bit stunned, and thinking, "OK, now what?"

The program fee I paid to my original surgeon included a nutritionist consult to develop a maintenance eating plan.  Why don't you call your surgeon's office and ask for advice/info on maintenance?

Jean,
That's a wonderful suggestion, unfortunately, my cir****tances don't match yours.  My surgery was done through Stanford Medical School, as far as their concerned, I'm done, unless I have problems.
Marti

You'd think a medical school would provide at least standard, if not above-standard, care.

CONGRATS !!!!  This was very nice to read....
CONGRATULATIONS Marti!!!  Time for some new photos!  I got the LB BECAUSE maintenance would be the same as what I've been doing the first day...no change in the plan...just add a few calories if you need to.

*My new adventure; At the suggestion and support of many LBers, I'm now writing a LB book.

I have had photos taken every 3 months all along my journey and they are posted on my refrigerator.  Unfortunately, between my photo program and OH, I am a klutz.  I have tried so many times to load them, I have given up in frustration.  I have wasted whole evenings trying to put them on my OH page.  It never works.  I have much admiration for all you who can post pictures so easily, but I cannot!

Marti

Marti, that's great news!  Thank you for sharing.  Your positive attitude throughout your journey surely helped pave the way for a smooth trip!

Best~
