Weight Loss Surgery Directory

Sooooooooo OT, but I have to share......

It's a dreary cold day and I thought I would share this site.

You can watch a Bald Eagle sit on her 3 eggs that are to hatch around 4/1/11

www.raptorresource.org   This nest is in Northeast Iowa near a fish hatchery.  A article was in the paper today about it.  The article said that the eagle cam has been watched by Internet users in about 130 countries already.  There's almost 4 million page visits per day.

So if you want to watch an eagle sitting on a nest....real exciting.....hahaha.... there you go!

Kristi
That is pretty cool.  I set a reminder to watch it on 4-1.
Very cool!

I thought about you all day, Kristi.

My husband and the dog and I went up to Mt. Lemmon and we hiked for 5 1/2 hours.
I was thinking about you -- hoping that you had a good weather day and were enjoying the outdoors ---- guess not!  LOL

Looks like you found a way to entertain yourself indoors!

I'm so envious!  5 & 1/2 hours sounds like heaven.  I just couldn't get myself to walk out in the wind and cold this afternoon.  I'm so tired of yucky weather.  I did get some good walks in a few days ago.  I usually say if it's over 25 degrees, I will get outside, just couldn't do it today and it was 40 something and was sunny for part of the day, but we had to go to the college campus where my son is going to go to this Fall.

Gosh, I wish we lived closer and I would go hiking with you!
Kristi

Hi Kristi.  I've been watching this for about 3 weeks.  It's incredible to be so close.  I've seen the male and female switch places on the nest, and the male bring food to the female. Can't wait until the eggs hatch.

In Des Moines with Christa.  Will head back home tomorrow.  She's doing fine.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Glad Christa is doing okay!  How nice that you were able to spend time with her.

How funny that you have been watching the nest!  It was on a friend's facebook page and then I saw it in the Sunday paper.

My friend Annie joined OH, she had her surgery on the 17th. I'll PM you her username.

These are nesting Eagles on Kennedy Space Center, they also have a nannycam..I don't know the site..but the pix are nice. We also have a pair of eagles living at our local garbage dump

Hey Petham, I can't see the pics, but isn't it fun to see wildlife that was on the endangered list years ago!  I'm so glad they are doing better!
Sorry about the pics. but yes ist is amazing to drive down the road and see woodstorks, roseate spoonbills and all sorts of big birds I had only seen in Zoos before.. I'm gonna try again with the pics, these are on my feeder

Petra
Awesome pics!  I love birds and in May a lot of my favorites will be back!  Baltimore Orioles, Rose Breasted Grossbeaks, Indigo Buntings and Hummingbirds and Eastern Bluebirds.
They are all doing what we all would like to do in the summer..get out of Florida.. :) And what a lot of other Northerners do... I guess the term "Snowbird" has meaning :) Sorry about your weather, it was 92 here today ..This is a great time of year...and we're on spring break..
Life is hard

Petra
Oh Petra,
I can't imagine 92 degrees.  I have a long underwear top on, T-shirt and a sweatshirt on!  And I will turn my electric blanket on when I go to bed.  I'm always cold.   ( my labwork is normal )
Enjoy your weather.  It's supposed to get to 60 by next  weekend, ( when I work ) hahaha
I do have little crocus flowers starting to bloom, so Spring is here.
Kristi
I guess you can consider yourself fortunate, it is snowing in Kansas!!
Here, it's the Hibiscus and orange blooming and the grass is going from crunchy (no rain) to greener or black (burning)

Petra
Petra Im sooooo jealous of you right now 92 degrees !!!!! I woke up to almost 2 inches of dang snow today

we had 70 degree temps last week and now we are back in the high 30's low 40's for all next week *sigh*

This is a great time here...not so much in a few weeks when the humidity kicks in...I do miss regular seasons, but I know I don't get much sympathy complaining about this...I miss snow, but only on Christmas..preferably in big fluffy flakes and it needs to be gone without me having to shovel it...I am not missing that aspect..

Petra
I watched one of those live feed sites for bald eagles a couple of years ago.  Unfortunately, the eggs never hatched :'-(  But, it was still fascinating to watch the day-to-day lives of raptors in the wild.

We actually have bald eagles here in NW Florida, and I've clutched my dog's leashes a little tighter when they are circling!  (Of course, my cairn terriers would give the eagle a hernia!)
