I have been banded for almost two years and only lost a measly 20 lbs. Finally I decided enough is enough. I have made up my mind to make my band work with me. I understand that it is my choices that have caused me to fail.
Since recieving my new frame of mind I am more intuned to my body and what my body and band are telling me. I am following all the rules of the band and I see a difference. I know when my band tells me I am done eating. I am making smarter choices as to what I am putting in my mouth. This is working for me. I did not go through this major life change to sit around and not change myself.
So far, since my new change of mind I am going to the gym almost daily and I am seeing a difference in my scale. Not to mention the peace of mind that my children are eating a little healthier.(They haven't even noticed the small change in their diet) I refuse to fail my band.

You are right...........it's a head game for sure! And somehow I went home from the hospital without my headband!

Today is my first anniversary of my band and I have only lost 21 pounds. BUT I realize that I have chosen to become synical. You know the head talk that we have used for years....."this works for everybody else but me!" "I knew this wouldn't work."

Like you, I refuse to give up. This was major surgery. Plus, the morning of my surgery, my 84 year old Mom fell down my stairs as we were leaving for the hospital and wound up spending seven days in the hospital herself. So, I can't go through all of that and disappoint her.

I'm going to see my nutritionist tomorrow and ask about joining Weigh****chers. I need some weekly accountability. If my surgeon's office were closer, I'd go there and weigh in weekly, but it's an hour drive away.
