I had my lapband in 2007. I now have lots of loose skin in my stomach area. Does Insurance cover a tummy tuck for lapbanders? I have BCBS of NC insurance. I thought I'd ask here first. I will eventually call my insurance company.  thank you

Most insurance companies do not cover tummy tucks. Some may cover a pani removal if you meet requirements like how far down it hangs and a medical history of infections, rashes, etc.

I was able to have the operating room paid for (time, doctor, operating room, anesthesia, etc) to have my port changed to a low profile port, and then my plastic surgeon rode off of that time paid for by my insurance to do my tummy tuck. My costs were about half of what it would normally have cost.

Dejah  is correct they will often cover a pannilectomy but rarely a full tummy tuck. Some surgeons will work with you and others not so much. You may want to check the plastic surgery forum here for more advice.
