Topic: RE: Recommended protein drinks
Thanks!  My dogs are my 'girls'.  they're the talk of the neighborhood because they both like to escape from our fenced in back-yard.  About the time we think we have it fixed so they can't escape, they find another way out.

YUM!  That sounds good!
Topic: RE: a little nervous
I hear you... I've got approval and am waiting for an appointment on the 17th to get my surgery date.  I have this butterly feeling in my stomach... excitement, nervousness, a little worry.    I think it's all probably very normal.  There are just so many unanswered questions right now - and we won't have the answers until we go through the surgery and experience life with a band (and without this excess weight).  I think it's all part of the change management process.

I'll check out the samples.  I meet with the nutritionist on the 17th
Topic: RE: Recommended protein drinks
Wondering what everyone's recommendation is for protein drinks.  I got a list of them from the surgeon and am looking for suggestions as to which ones people like.

Thanks!
Topic: RE: Friday Night Social Hour
Today's questions are:
  1. what are you addicted to?  Facebook
  2. Where born / where live now?  Born in Iowa, Live in Iowa (after living in three other states)
  3. funniest friend?  Does my husband count?  He cracks me up every day!
  4. meanest friend?  I don't think I have any.  Some are more critical than others, but all well intending
  5. If you lived on a farm, which chore above all others would you NOT want to do?  Cleaning up poop of any kind
Topic: RE: H. Pylori infection common?

The information from my surgeon's office said that they test for it before every surgery

Topic: RE: I'm Approved!
Thanks for all the congrats!  I woke up this morning thinking about one year from now and what I'll look / feel like.  We have a halloween costume party every year and the first thing I thought about was that maybe a year from now I won't have to make my costume because none of the premade ones fit.  :)
Topic: RE: I'm Approved!
I had a voice mail message from the surgeon's office today that they got my insurance approval today.  They said they'd call me back tomorrow afternoon to schedule the big day!

Woo hoo!

I'm so excited - I had to post quick during a break between meetings!
Topic: RE: WII Exercise question
I'd be interested... my times would vary, so just let me know what times and I will join if I can
Topic: RE: Going 2 GYM before Work....
I'm really lucky - the gym is a mile from my house.  So I go to water aerobics at 5:30, shower there, and then come home and do hair and makeup (what little I may wear).  That way I don't have to haul everything to the gym.  I enjoy the early morning workout - it's a nice way to start the day.
Topic: RE: Who decided for your WLS? You? Your doc?
It was my decision.  when I went in to talk to my PCP the first time, he was very supportive.  After I met with the surgeon and found out he thought I'd have a really good chance of getting approved the first time, my PCP was almost giddy!  I'm not sure what his reaction will be when the surgery actually gets scheduled!
Topic: RE: How did you hear you were approved?
I'm thinking based on the variety of ways that everyone heard, that I should call and check sometime this week.
Topic: RE: How did you hear you were approved?
That would be great to have a site to go check!
Topic: RE: How did you hear you were approved?
I got a letter on Saturday from the surgeon's office that they submitted my documentation to insurance for approval.  How did you hear that you were approved?  A call?  A letter?  Did you call?  How long did it take for you to hear - their office says 4-6 weeks.  Just wondering what to expect.  I have Wellmark BCBS.
Topic: RE: August exercise challenge results ???
I did 600, which is way below my goal, but 600 more than I did last month
Topic: RE: OT: A new puppy!
how sweet!  I am such a sucker for puppies.
Topic: RE: Where I came from... PICS
that's awesome!  You look terrific
Topic: RE: How are you moving today?
Went to the state fair and we walked from 9am - 3pm, stopping a few times to rest and have lunch.  My plantar facitis is killing me tonight!
Topic: RE: Chia Seeds
Good to know.  We don't have random drug tests were I work, but my husband is looking for work - so it is good to know in case he has to take a drug test for a job.
Topic: RE: August Exercise Challenge
I'm not doing so hot... 250 minutes.  And the pool is closed for painting next week, so I'll miss water aerobics for three days.  We're going to the State Fair tomorrow with lots of walking... does that count?
Topic: RE: Chia Seeds
does anyone use Chia Seeds?  I've been seeing a lot of promotion of their nutritional value in our local grocery store
