    Hi ladies

I had my surgery in Tijuana on Monday.  Things seem to be going very well.  I spent only one night in hospital.  I have to go back to have my drain checked Wed and Thursday.  I might even be able to get it out tomorrow.  Did a little bit of sight-seeing in the afternoon with a cab driver.  Hoping to be able to leave tomorrow to spend some time in San Diego.

No pain since my IV was taken out  this morning.  Have lots of heavy duty things if i need them.

The nutritionist set a more realistic goal weight of 148.

All in all, everything is good.

Wow, they must be excellent at the surgery!!!  I hope you are feeling great!!

Off topic:  Did you ever end up taking out extra insurance for the medical proceedure, I remember you asking about this along time ago??

If you can take lots of pictures of the clinic and the area, I have a girlfriends that is in need of surgery asap and cannot wait the time period for the waiting time here.

You will have to come to the meet and greet if you feeling better, it would be grea to meet you.

All the best on the way home,
    Michelle

No, i didn't get the extra insurance.  It turned out OCC didn't meet the right specifications for the only company I found that even offered it at a reasonable price.

Thanks everyone!  I'm actually surprised by how well I feel.  I haven't had any pain (still taking the painkillers they prescribed but even at the end of the 12 hours I wasn't feeling anything).

Michelle, I'm sorry, but I didn't take any pictures of the clinic!  Their website (obesitycontrolcenter.com) has lots and they're pretty accurate.  I had a good experience there and would definitely recommend it.  Is your friend in Winnipeg?  There are lots of things I really don't remember much of around the time of my surgery, but my sister-in-law was with me and she was quite happy with everything.

On the other hand, my sis-in-law ran into a woman whose husband had surgery this morning and she was not at all happy with anything, it seemed!  I guess it's like anywhere, some people have really good experiences and others don't.  None of the other people we spoke with had issues, though.

If by chance you friend does go to OCC, could you ask her to mention my name as having referred her?  I get some kind of credits for referrals.  My last name is Charney.

We're heading to San Diego Thursday after I have my drain taken out. so we don't have to worry about line-ups at the border on the way to the airport. Hope to see some of San Diego.

    Hi Dianne,

I am glad everything went well for you and doing great. As for me it seemed to have knocked the wind out of me but it's getting better each day, only on liquid tylenol now. I was glad to have my drain out before I left the hospital. I see the dietitan this week for my next phase.

I hope to be comfy back at home this coming weekend
