I need a little support from all of you guys who have gone through the surgery.  Tomorrow will be 7 weeks out and I thought I was doing great, but I weighed myself at the gym today before getting my new program and found out I have gained 6 lbs from last Thursday.  I am upset about it.  How can this happen, i asked myself.  Can someone help me out?

I know it's easier said than done but don't worry. I also gained weight after surgery and didn't lose anything for 3 weeks after. I know...how is this even possible. Here's the answer. Your body is healing and it uses everything you consume to heal itself, so you gain weight. Plus your body thinks its starving and it just went thru trauma so you end up gaining. I've heard some people gain up to 10+ pounds before you'll start to lose. Don't worry. Get your liquids, jello, protein, etc in. I promise before you know it you'll start to lose.

The pounds will start coming off soon. Most of us had a plateau soon after surgery. It is frustrating, but it does pass. If you are working out, then you probably do have some muscle gain. However, I also found that I would gain a bit immediately before a major weight loss. I honestly think it is from old fat stores breaking down. I seemed to get loose in the belly for a few days and I would feel a little bloated, the scale would go up - yuck, and then presto, I'd wake up one morning to a fantastic weight loss.

Keep up the good work and you will see the scale move.

    It has to!
