Hello All,

To anyone who has had a conversion from lap band to VSG, can you tell me if I have to go through all the paperwork, psych evals, seminars, supervised weight loss and all of the other stuff all over again???  I was banded in Nov 2007 at 240 pounds with like a 5 pound weight loss over that period only to be 241 now.  I have an appointment with Michael Peters at Chrias on 11/23/11 and an appointment with Averbach 12/9/11.  I have been on phentermine since June and have no sucess.  Any comments, advice, suggestions, or general feedback would be great.

Thanks All

I do not have any advice but can I ask that you keep me updated? I am trying to convince my mom to get a revision from band to vsg. She had the same problem. Thanks

Sorry to hear you need a revision. I know how disappointing it all can seem. I had lapband in 2006 and revision to DS in 2009. I had to do everything over for insurance to cover. Best thing to do is call you insurance company to see what exactly you need to do.

Advise, suggestions etc. get that band out of you as soon as possible. All my test upper GI etc. showed everything was fine, but when they went in to remove it there was lots of damage to my esophagus .

Do hat ever you need to to get your revision. I'm sure you will be happy with VSG, also look into the DS if you haven't already.
