Topic: RE: Hi all hope u all have had a great winter
Just dropped in to say hello. Been a rough cold winter for me. I need to exercise more . I just got back to zumba I need to get on my wii too.

My new goals this year are to lose the weight I have been struggling in and to get back on track to eating right. I find my self snacking and as we all know those extra calories add up fast when. We don't exercise. I am glad sping is coming hope all is fine with everyone

Topic: RE: 5 Year Surgiversary!!!
Congratulations on ur anniversary. I am five and a half years out. I gained about fifteen pounds back and work on that all the time. It is normal to gain around ten for each hundred u r still successful. We just need to stop the gain and get back on track. Which u r doing. That is wonderful. This winter I was so cold I would not go out and did not exercise but I am back to Zumba and am going to try to stick with it . Remember this procedure was not head surgery all those old demons are still there we have to change our own heads but think of all the extra time ur grandchildren have had with u. I am so proud of all u have accomplished. Take care and stay in touch. Patty

Hi  Hope you are doing well after surgery.   Kidney stones can also be caused by not getting in enough fluids.   Yes they are something to  watch for like the gall bladder.  Hope you are doing well otherwise.   Yes it has been a long time.

Topic: RE: Losing one of our own!!! Ruth P tiggerpt
We lost one of the most careing and dedicated people from our wls group.  She use to post here alot in the beginning then like a lot got busy with work and health  and family and faded away.   She  had us always in her heart  and she is in ours.   Ruth  passed  October 2 from complications of menengitis.

I  am  going to biddeford tomorrow  and was wondering if anyone else  wanted a ride down to the funeral.  I  will be leaving  bangor around  9 am so if anyone would like to to.  let me know here or on my cell 9497202

She helped a lot of people on this  wls journey and was one of the most caring people that i knew.

RIP Ruth may you always live in our hearts.   Heaven  got a new angel this week.

Topic: RE: hi
Just  checking in to see how everyone is doing.   I am doing great since my panniculectomy in August.   I need to get back to exercising.  That is my  downfall.  But i am maintaining and not gaining weight which  at 5 years out almost  is a good thing.   We all know that the weight can creep back on if we dont measure and follow the rules.   It is the hardest part of the  surgery.   I can not for the life of me wonder why anyone would go thru all this to put weight back on.  It scares me.  So I will continue to follow the rules most of the time.  And hope that  anyone that needs help  lets us all know.  We are here for anyone that needs us.

WE do  have  a support group meeting on Friday  October  5th at  4:30   to six thirty at  emmc  second floor  mason auditorium.

having no pain is great  just measure and eat what  you have been told to and  some can get it all down but alot of  us could not.  the biggest challenge you have right now is to get all your fluid in and protein.   But  you sound  wonderful.   Hope  things  stay great for you.

Topic: RE: Exercise
We all know how important  exercise is and following the rules.   And the exercise  end has been a little slow  this summer for me.  been  traveling and then had surgery.  But we did do a little walking last week and this morning  we walked for an hour.   Boy did my legs know it.

I got a  note back from my surgeon who now is in Ohio  and he said the defination of succes for  wls is not in the first two years.  it is in the  four or five year and beyond  not gaining  wait and maintaining.   We all know that  bad habits can creep back in and following the rules  gets put to the wayside.  But for most of Us we need to pat ourselves on the back for a job well done.  I dont think we always  reward ourselves *( and no with food) for  maintaining and following the rules.

I hope everyone has had a great summer as it winds. down.  Take care and keep in touch.!!!

I will be doing the koman walk for the cure if anyone is interested in walking with me let me know.

Topic: RE: Skin Surgery
Hi all i am having  a pannilectomy on August  7 in waterville with  Dr  Schassberger.

I will be in over nite.  and yes my insurance is covering it for medical reasons.

I  do know that  i will be sore for a few weeks  but everyone i have talked to  say that they are pleased that they did it.

It is not a full tummy tuck  it is the lower.   and yes i probably will lose my belly button. but if that means a little more  tissue that can be removed then it will be ok.

I have been so blessed that i have not had  any bad side effects and that i am  healthy again

now to get me back to exercising after this surgery

He said to walk walk walk and that i plan to do.

Take care everyone hope you are having a great summer.

I did a sister trip to  new york city and washington dc  and then to ontario with my husband and then to my sisters house in  Dieppe New Brunswick.
