Any Mid Michigan Pre-ops?

Anyone else around looking to have WLS in mid Michigan (Flint) area? Looking for advice on support groups in the area.

Hurley has a support group.

They also have three peer led groups

I had the band placed at Hurley and am trying to get approved for a revision there now.

Just looked up and saw you are going thru Mclaren. Don't they have there own support group?
I know they didn't but, a guy going thru them at our party last week said they do now.

Doesn't matter. We have had Mclaren patients attend our group. Several where at the peer led ones.

They have some at McLaren too. First Wednesday of every month from 6 -7. They also have one in the morning but I don't remember the dates or time on that one.

Thanks for the info, I am going to wander into the BAriatric Center at McLaren this week and see if there is anything I can do to speed the process along (have to wait until Aug 30th for the psych eval). Hopefully I can attend their support group as part of the pre surgery requirements.

Yeah you can come to the support groups. We have a lot of people that come before they have the surgery. It helps with answering any questionst that you have before surgery.

I will do my best to be there, I have some company business on the first wednesday of August but will find a way to get there. How many people normally attend?

I don't have Dr Williams, I will be seeing Dr. Franklin on August 30th.

I would still try to make it to the next McL support group just in case it helps.
Doc W also would have been happy you are here.
He is the one that told me of these boards.

The group varies from month to month depending on the weather. Sometimes there are five people there and other times there could be fifteen. There is a group of us that are there every month.

Yeah there is atleast 2 -3 guys that are there every month. Then some months we have a few more, depending on the weather.
