I have straight Medicaid which I am told is different than the individual type that I think you are describing and they all have different criteria. At least that is what I am finding out. It is very complicated. I am not familiar with diabetes but apparently if they have trouble controlling it with conventional treatment then that could meet the requirement. I think they make it difficult just to weed out the vain people who may want to do if for just personal appearance and not because of health issues. I have appealed my denial and I'm hoping I have enough additional health issues to sway them.

How do you like Dr Wood. I have an appt with him June 6th Have never met him. Trying to check out his references. Any info.

not happy with the dr I use to have in gr ..traveled all the way there took a day off work just to get no help at all !!dont even no what to do now ..thay have a get back on track program but I dont think that will help ..

Just be very honest with the Dr. and with yourself.  Perhaps this is a new different start.

I myself never made it to goal and I have waited almost 13 years and I am hoping for a new start.

I have medicaid not straight medicaid though. I picked a health care plan during open enrollment (omnicare). I am scheduled for surgery April 30th. I have no illnesses AT ALL. I do have mild arthritis though. What is your BMI?

I have researched and found a couple of place for Medicaid but my problem is that Medicaid denied it because I didn't have an "uncontrolled life endangering event such as uncontrolled high blood pressure or diabetes". Has anyone got Medicaid to approve bariatric surgery without this?

The only place I have seen the Optifast was in the hospital.  I know all you in Canada seem to have to use it.  I was made to use another product called betterMD thru out center, it is just WonderSlim in another box.  Same stuff used by medical weight loss.

I am going back to my dr after 6 years ..I didnt lose all the weight I should of with my rny ..about 80 pounds I had abother 50 at least to go just couldnt ..I have felt like I did somthing wrong ..so mad at my self because I couldnt even do this right ..well am going to talk to the doc end of this month ..hopfully I can see what I can have done ..anyone else have any sugestions for me ?
