My DH always wants a booth in a restaurant and sometimes it was a little too snug. I always hoped the table would move. Not a problem now but the thought always pops in my head we get to the booth. Hobbling around the office because my knees hurt so badly I could hardly walk. It was such misery to get up from my desk. Getting a view of myself from the side would throw me into depression for days. I did get some bargains at the thrist shop....3 pairs of shorts for 2.97 and DH got 4 pair for $6. I got my serger back and been using it today to finish a dress for me. I bought more patterns yesterday for $.99 each. My dress has a belt. It's been years since I wore a dress with a waistline. Yesterday I made the Minute Bread in a Cup, very good. This morning I made a "Danish." Actually I don't think it tastes much like a Danish but it was very good. I'm organizing a binder with all my WLS recipes. Debbis, so glad you son is okay. Sugar, congratulations on your anniversay and good luck on your mission trip. PoohBear, I like your 4th of July message. Lou, sounds like real estate is booming. I love SDC but haven't been in years. If I can find a way to settle my little furry girl down in the car, we will take a trip to Branson. Sophie gets so nervous in the car. I just can't bear to leave them in a kennel. I know, silly dog owner. I'm going back to sewing. Lovin' using smaller patterns. Yave a lovely 4th!! ~Jo~ No matter how much money or how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich. I figured it would be packed, but actually it was great. We rode all the rides and never had to wait in line. The line for the lemonaide was longer than the line rides. We left @ 1 that's when it started getting busy. They let vetrans in free which I thought was great. They wore a pin on their shirt, always makes me want to walk up and say thank you, but then I always think do they think I'm a weirdo, so I just smile. lol I bet they wonder why is this chick smiling at me HAHAHA! On the way down there I got a call about a listing I have and we went back and forth all the way down to Branson and as we were pulling in the parking lot we came to an agreement. So that house is under contract! YAY! I just listed a new one on Thurs I hope I can get it UC by next week, its a doll house. Jan I used to almost break out in hives when we went to a restaurant and the hostess would head for a booth. I always thought OMG I hope its one the table will move so we can scoot it over. I hated that. Now my life is just normal. I don't get any looks getting on rides, walking down the street, going in to eat. Its great. My life is so much more active and fun. I wouldn't want to go back ever! We are going to a bbq, going swimming( used to I would be in a panic about the swim suit). Not anymore! Jan I love it INDEPENDENCE from FAT! hell yeah! ;) Have a great 4th everyone! ;) Lou |

We arrived back home yesterday, had a great time visiting with lots of family. It is a lot of work packing to go and just couldn't get organized when we set up our camp. Don't know why but, it was more work and seemed I just couldn't find things when I needed them. Hubby and son caught lots of fish. They were fishing limb lines and noodles. Early morning and late evening. We took "Baby" and found she doesn't care for camping. She didn't like all the people and wasn't crazy about swiming. Since coming home I have to carry her out the door to go potty, she refuses to walk out the door on her own...LOL I haven't caught up on the board yet, but, I will. Got word on Thursday morning that one of my best friends died. We knew she had kidney cancer and was fighting that but, did not know her remaining kidney shut down while we were gone. I know she is in a better place but my heart is so selfish. Her services will be Monday and Turesday after the holiday. Need to get to unpacking and laundry, just wanted everyone to know I am back and fine. Missed the board and thought of all of you often. ![]() Barbara Hugs; Barbara Lap RNY ~ 4/22/2003 5'0" ~253 starting wt. I Lost 130 lbs! And went from a Sloth to an Energizer Bunny!!!! |

Stay safe & have fun! Saw TammyV yesterday at Caseys with her grandsons & a neice and she looks great! Talked with my daughter for a minute and wished her a Happy 32nd Birthday. It was night over there and they were at a fireworks display with about 10,000 people on base. I just can't imagine that many people... I miss her and Jamie so much. It has rained here all night - yes the garden needed it, am thankfull we did not get the severe storms that they were predicting. At least everything got a good soaking so we don't have to worry about fireworks and our roofs. Have a great day! Sandy |

Cedar Creek, MO Member Since: 07/08/05 [Latest Posts] | Post Date: 7/3/09 9:41 pm Topic: WHATS HAPPENING ON 4TH OF JULY I think I have figured out what is going on with me now.....i think it is low blood sugar....I stuck a piece of Joes hard candy in my pocket Friday morning and went outside to work...the first sign I had of feeling dizzy and like I didn’t have the strength to stand up I popped that candy in my mouth and sure enough the feeling went away....i guess because it has been so hot and im trying to get so much done in the early morning my 30 grams of protein at 7am isn’t holding me till noon any more. It has been about 10am and it just goes and bottoms out. I guess you can see my metobolizer is metabolizing lol I just need some sort of protein about 10am ....and I have been out of protein bars that is what I was doing was eating a protein bar about 10am .....lol I guess that was and is what is happening. I didn’t buy any bars the other day cause I didn’t have enough money but I guess I better get them or something. Lol make some peanut butter balls ... Thought I would ask you all a question and see what sort of things we got.... What was your most embarrassing or hateful or scary story before wls. .... I use to hate going anywhere when I was fat at 5foot 3in. 272 pounds it was so scary to go somewhere and have to look around to find a place to sit....at that weight I couldn’t stand for more than 5 minutes and if there wasn’t a good sturdy chair or bench then it was too bad...most of the time I made Joe take my own sturdy chair when we were going somewhere like that....once I sat in a chair that was metal you know the old fashioned ones . it had to be bad , I don’t know how it could have bent and fell like it did. It totally folded slowly and I was on the ground before I knew it. it took 3 men to get me up again. and that wasn’t fun either. So this 4th of July I declare all of us independence from FAT.....Thank God for the knowledge that surgeons have to help us out of our pits of fat despair. .... Jo did you find any good bargains shopping today? I just never can seem to find anything like others do ...maybe because even at smaller sizes I still really don’t like shopping for clothes. It just seems like a waste of money ....lol now you all know im freaky huh? A woman that doesn’t like to shop for clothes and shoes are even worse. I love shopping for tools, lumber anything to build stuff with but not clothes. Joe usually has to run me off and tell me to go get something new lol you know I wasn’t like that before I got fat in the first place . I use to buy a complete new outfit every week but when your fat it doesn’t matter what you put on , that was the way I felt anyway.... Debbie so happy and glad that nothing was really wrong with Luke....and that you all got home safely.... Isnt it amazing how God is providing for you all. And I know that if someone would have ask you all before he got laid off if you could survive without his job , you would have said no....you know sometimes I think that God gives us lessons on how to trust in him...and maybe this is what this is? Are you working more ? Post once in a while so we don’t wonder if you ran away. Lol Susan I know you are worn out for sure. All the moving you all have been doing today....be careful and don’t overdo....sure am going to miss you all. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

We had rain this morning just as I was taking my fur baby for grooming. She hates going in the car so she tried to hide when it was time to go. Hubby wanted sweet rolls for breakfast so I stopped in the rain to get them. They looked so good I just had to try. Yuck. He said they were delicious but was too sweet and doughy for me. I had ricotta cheese with some peanut butter protein powder, walnuts and sweetner. Yum!! I need to get my blood work done today for my visit with the surgeon next Thursday. Everything was fine last time so I'm hoping it will be now. Tomorrow the thrift store in my area is having a 50% off sale so I'm going shopping for bargains. It's really fun to see what I can find. He has no broken bones, fractures, etc. They did a CAT and X-Rays last night. They sent him home with 3 prescriptions, 2 pain killers and 1 muscle relaxer. He's a typical "man" and didn't want to stop by the 24 hour Walgreen Pharmacy less than 3 blocks from the hospital. So I imagine he's going to wake wishing he had gotten those prescriptions filled. |

I think I had a spell of hypoglycemia yesterday..not really sure but I felt weak and sort of sick feeling and so I came in the house and made a protein shake, one with strawberries in it and everything. Sat down and drank it . then went back outside and was working and started sweating like crazy..got weak and dizzy, went into the house and was so hot , I just couldn’t get cooled . I sat down on the step going into the living room , I was shaking so badly I couldn’t stand up and sweat just pouring off of me....couldnt talk right either. I called Joe on his cell phone and I guess I made enough sense for him to come see about me...he went and got a cold wash rag and I put it on my neck and face....i felt like I was so hot that I was going to pass out. Or like I was going to blow up....dont know if that is what it was or was it a mini stroke....??? I don’t know I feel ok today but I can only work outside for about 10 minutes at a time today....i have managed to get two flower beds cleaned out today anyway.....one I did at daylight this morning.. before the sun really came out good. it was just up enough for me to see well lol ....thought well there is more than one way to skin a cat isn’t there.... Andy and Susan are busy packing and getting things ready to move. DARN!!!! I sure do hate to see them go....I know it is about the only thing they can do with only one car , and with Susan working where they will be living that makes it good. Andy then can use the car to go to College which I think he starts next month....that is so good that he is going to go back to school.....i applaud anyone that does that. But will sure miss them.... I have someone coming to see the house on the 8th so hopefully they will be good people. I advertised it on Craigslist and got an answer from two different people right away. Well I am going to have to get me a new printer after all. When I get one im going to get a wireless one so I can be sitting in the living room with my laptop and print stuff off without having to get up and go plug in the printer. Lol boy technology really makes people lazy you know it. like the remote for the tv. Lol how far away is that thing anyway....Joe will get up and look and look for the remote but wont turn the channel by hand. Lol .

I am around the st louis area and just got the process started yesterday and my pcp asked what dr I was looking into using. I told I was looking at St Alexius. Now I am trying to get in for the seminar but the July list was not up yet when I checked a fewminutes ago. Also do they help with the begining ins process like I need to do two 6 month weight loss attempts do they help with this or should ' I just use my dr. He is referring me to a nutritionist and my ins told me they needed to talk to my pcp cause they might pay for my weight loss attempts. Any info even on things I have not thought to ask would be great. I am very new to this and honestly feel a little overwhelmed I don't want this to take any longer then it has to. TIA Suzy |

Andy W. Cedar Creek, MO Member Since: 10/27/03 [Latest Posts] | Post Date: 7/2/09 5:10 am Topic: Daily Bible Reading - Thursday July 2nd Seems like the Lord is bringing around discipline to us again. In Proverbs today vs 9 says “ A lazy person is as bad as someone who destroys things.” I know the Lord does not honor laziness and it really creeps in to our lives sometimes without us realizing it, that’s how satan works. When we are disciplined the Lord really honors that and is so pleased that He’ll bless us tremendously. Reading the devotion just confirms what Proverbs had to say. I like how the devotional said “Your performance gives you a platform.” When we are disciplined and walking in the Lord we stand on a platform that will help us be better and do more to spread the word. Discipline has always been a sore spot in my life, I’ve never been as discipline as I should have been and want to be, I’m certainly better then I was especially since losing weight but there is still room for improvement. Even in reading about all the kings, we see how some of them were so not disciplined and some were. The ones that weren’t disciplined really paid the price and were displeasing in Gods eyes. Now if we could be more like David we’d be doing good. For the most part he was a disciplined guy, he is a good role model to read about. ***Bec***My goodness you sure got me to thinking about the heaps of insults to the Lord, I’ve thought all day yesterday on that and I bet I have, sometimes our actions sure aren’t what the should be are they? Just another area for me to improve but that’s ok, when this year is done and we’ve read through the whole bible hopefully the Lord will have covered all over our lives and we will all be much better people because of it. Thank you for your thoughts, they really mean a lot to me because the Lord always speaks volumes through you. ***Jan***Yeah that’s always been a weak area in my life in the past. I guess I used to be one to want to jump right in on the big things by passing the little things but that’s not how it works. I’ve become more faithful in a lot of areas and still have so many areas to work on like the weeding lol, people prolly think im nutty but that really is a small area to improve for the Lord, with the Lords help though I’ll get there. Thanks again for your imput!! Today’s Reading
Daily Devotional
"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven" Do the people around you see your light shining? Do they know you are a believer by your actions? Are you setting the bar in your office? Can people see your good works? I know people who can quote half the Bible and pray two hours a day, but they have no influence or credibility because they’re sloppy in the workplace. They’re always late or wasting time. They’re not productive. They’re not efficient. No one will even listen to them. I heard somebody say, “Your performance gives you a platform.” When you excel in what you do, that gets people’s attention. The way to gain respect, the way to gain influence is to develop your character and skills in such a way that people want what you have. They may not agree with what you believe, but when you are the best in your company, they can’t argue with that. You’ve earned their respect, not by your words, but by your spirit of excellence. I encourage you today, don’t settle for mediocrity. You are a child of the Most High God. Make the decision today to let your light shine and bring Him glory in everything you do! |

First of all THANK YOU to all *****sponded and prayed for me, it is so much appreicated. I am back home and drinking, back on stage 2 diet, which I don't mind because everything is passing through wonderfully (if you know what I mean). ![]() I was admitted from the ER. I had continuous hydration, magnesium, calcium, and my least favorite postassium. I was taken for an EGD yesterday and re-dilated. The doctor said most people are good being dilated to 12, which she did to me last week. I had just started restricturing this week and she dilated me this time to 15. A stent was not used, but after being told by another doctor that I could have to have this done several times (EEWWWWW) before I am fixed, I really want one. That doctor also said that 15 is still pretty narrow so I could get dilated bigger next time. (By the time I'm done not only will I be able to stick my foot in my mouth, I'll be able to swallow it, lol!!) They took wonderful care of me at the University I do have to admit, but I'm so glad to be home again. Going to Missouri Bariatric for my one month followup appt. and class tomorrow. I am in such a much better mood today than I was Monday. The support here is awesome, thank you all again...so very much!! |

You never get the big thing done if you dont do all the little things first. Such as a pretty flower garden. small step planting seeds, 2 watering 3. weeding 4. fertilizing...all of these are small steps but the large thing you have is a beautiful flower garden.... Life is the same way.... God is pleased when we can follow all the little steps what ever the final thing might be. Some one ask me once about how do you get a green thumb......i said that you first have to get that thumb brown and black with dirt....lol I know this may not sound like it is much of a devotional but i think it is . God wont trust you with the big things if you dont learn how to do the little things. Doing the right thing when no one is watching....

Not sure what he does out there but he loves it. Our yard looks nice. All the assistants went out for lunch to Ghengis Grill. I stayed here to fill in for the receptionist. You pay the same amount whether you get a little food or a lot and no doggie bags. You put whatever you want in your bowl and it is cooked for you. No more than I eat I would be wasting money and I'm sure it's expensive. I had an Atkins bar to tide me over until I can have lunch. ~Jo~ No matter how much money or how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich. Louis Sabin |

springgardengal Member Since: 03/28/07 [Latest Posts] | Post Date: 7/1/09 7:21 am Topic: RE: Daily Bible Reading - Wednesday July 1st Wow was the Word chocked full of good stuff this morning... First in the old testament this stood out to me, I will have to ponder on this today and see what the Lord will say to me... tough stuff. "Against whom have you raised you voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel! By your messengers (messages) you have heaped insults on the Lord...." This leads me to examine myself ... have I "heaped insults" on my precious Lord by my actions or attitudes? WOW! So many of the kings dishonored the Lord by not recognizing His sovereign power, commands and Lordship... it most usually got them in big trouble!!! How much "trouble" can I save myself by being humble and giving God his rightful place in all areas of my life. As we read on in the new testament Paul was the perfect example in this reading of giving his WHOLE self to the Lord in being willing to give his life for the cause of Christ... even when they tried to persuade him to stay in a safer place... now that's total surrender! In the Psalms we see that the Lord "takes delight" in His people and "crowns the humble with salvation".. now that's exciting! Then in Proverbs once again I are admonished to guard my lips and not fall into gossip as it takes a firm grip in our lives, and as we know it is not a positive grip either. Our words are so powerful either to lift up or tear down. Andy... I agree with you about the devotion! I sure can use a reminder of being faithful in "all" areas of my life... big or "small"... I know to do this it takes constant discipline. I think for me this past year it has been with exercise... the Lord has taught me so much thru this... He has required me to be disciplined but also He has shown me that He is the provider of the strength to accomplish the commitments we make to Him. There are so many areas we need to be faithful in. What a wonderful encouragement we received to do just that this morning! Andy take care as you move I will be praying that all goes smoothly and you will be back with us soon. Blessing to you and Susan, bec |

Andy W. Cedar Creek, MO Member Since: 10/27/03 [Latest Posts] | Post Date: 7/1/09 3:13 am Topic: Daily Bible Reading - Wednesday July 1st Once again the devotional hit me square between the eyes. It really seems on days the Lord speaks to me through the Word and other days its through the devotional, whatever and however it is, He has really been speaking and so clearly. I think we’ve all had times in our lives that we didn’t want to do this or that, I know I have. Reading the devotional this morning really put some things in perspective for me. It really is the small things that add up in our lives making bigger things. If we can’t be faithful in the small things, how can they add up to the big things? They can’t, can they? It really hit me, if we can’t be trusted to do the little things, how can God trust us with a big thing? I know for me I really need to work on the smaller things better, for instance, I hate pulling weeds outta the garden, I made a flower garden out front along with one that was already there, they both have some really pretty flowers in them but the grass and weeds had just about took over. I love mowing the grass and other things but its those darn weeds and grass I just for some reason don’t like to pull. I finally pulled some grass and weeds outta the one, then quit. Already it looked so much better. A few days later I noticed Jan had been out there and cleaned out the other one which made it look so nice and after reading this it really hit me, if we aren’t faithful in the small things God gets others to do it and He wont move us on to the bigger things. From today forward I choose to be more faithful in the small things, even if it means pulling weeds. Gotta be faithful in the little so God can move us to the bigger.
Daily Devotional
"He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is faithful also in much, and he who is dishonest and unjust in a very little [thing] is dishonest and unjust also in much" Many people today are not experiencing God’s favor like they should simply because they’re not passing what I call, the small test. We have to be faithful with the little things in our lives before God will entrust us with bigger things. For example, being excellent in the workplace for you may not mean some huge adjustment. It may just mean leaving ten minutes earlier so you can get to work on time. It may mean not complaining when your supervisor asks you to do something. It may mean not making personal phone calls on company time. You might think, “It’s just a small thing. Nobody knows. It’s not hurting anything.” But the Scripture says, “It’s the little foxes that spoil the vines.” Don’t let the seemingly small things keep you from the big things God has in store. No, it’s time to come up higher. It’s time to be faithful, even when nobody’s looking I encourage you today to make the decision to come up higher. Choose to be faithful with the little things so that God can bless you and make you ruler over much! Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to be faithful in all things. I repent right now for anything that I’ve done that has been displeasing to You. Help me by Your Holy Spirit to rise up higher so that I can be ready to embrace all You have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. |

Thanks for calling me Susie, but I am at my wits ends around here. Not sure just whose going to survive this one me or my mom. She is really making it hard for me, she can't seem to figure it out that I have to work, it's like she just don't understand what's going on around us. She isn't eating even if I have it in the frig she won't eat it. When I tell her I am getting some one to come to the house she says yes one day then no the next. It is just like before, got her to the doc's last week and she thinks it's poor nutrition which I feel bad but if I cook it and am home with her and fix her plate a she eats it all. I give up, and then of course my job sucks, lol sure glad I don't do the office stuff everyday I hate that. So I am working on cleaning the new house, and my son has been doing the plumbing and electrical stuf***** me a new stove and dishwasher so far dishwasher is in but not the stove trying to do some painting and the range hood first, can't seem to find the damper that is suppose to go in there, been all over looking for that,....got new shower rods tonight to put up everything is so cruddy with calcium build up from the old place. The shower stalls were off white I thought but when I leave the CLR on for the night I come back and it's whiter every time. Not sure if I am ever going to get them clean. ..lol So that's what I have been doing except last Sat evening we had a bridal bar b que, that was so fun, then I left with my 2 grand baby girls, Sam and Clayton are still TX, looks like she isn't coming back for the wedding which I knew she wouldn't when she left but of course she told me she would. Clayton turned 1 yr last week, I got some stuff to send him for is B-day, hope I got them big enough. I figure I will send her a gift card for wally world too so she can buy what she needs. I hate to say it but it sure has been quite around here with out her. I miss her though and know in my heart that she has to really be suffering there. I guess I just try and put that out of my mind so I won't think about how bad it is for her, and of course she would never tell me it was bad. Well I am off to bed gotta do labs for me and mom in the morn before she eats so I gotta get up early. I hope that we can get together soon and have lunch somewhere,..........before the big wedding,.......I need a camera too and not sure what to buy anyone have a really good one that didn't cost an arm and a leg....... Nite all and hope to see you soon Love and miss you Marylin |

yesterday Jade and I got up early and headed down to SDC. Jan I love it INDEPENDENCE from FAT! hell yeah! ;) Have a great 4th everyone! ;) Lou
