Post Date: 1/4/12 11:24 am I have tried a couple of things in an effort to get motivated & to get moving. I bought a "Fitbit"- which is like a Fit Bug that gets talked about on the main lap band forum. It measures my steps taken (more accurately than most pedometers), floors climbed, calories burned, how active i have been, & distance traveled, I down load it every couple of days to the Fitbit site, which is free for the first year, and if I register what I have eaten, it will tell me if I am ahead of the game or NOT for the day. I find that I really want to get those 10,000 steps in every day. It will also tell me the quality of my sleep, if I register what time I went to bed & got up. It costs 100.00 plus shipping.
The second thing is a site (I can't remember the name at the moment) which I linked to from the Fitbit site. This site you decide what you want to improve in your health habits & you play a game against other people with similar goals. I chose to cut sugar out 6 days per week, fried food only once per week, take my vitamins daily (I have been slipping lately), drink my water daily, & to limit my snacking in the evening to 100 calories (my biggest issue of all). I am not sure how well this is going to work yet as I just started, but if it keeps me even a little more accountable, it's a good thing! I am only 4 days in & already i realize that I am skipping my vitamin a lot more often than I thought.
