Hi Kitty!  What do you mean "the first band failed"? I wonder quite often what my band is doing :-(  I seem to have good restriction by times and then sometimes I can eat almost anything.   I don't blame you for being discouraged.  You are amazing to hang in there.  Many - myself included- would have quit long ago.  The thing is the battle never ends, even when the weight comes off we still have to maintain.  So good to hear from you!

I have missed you folks and I will try harder to post and check on you all :-)

I'm not sure what the stats are for lap band.  Seems to me that I read somewhere that this WLS usually results in a loss of about 60-80% of the weight you need to lose will come off.  I'm at 75% so I am happy with that... yet still hoping to lose a little more.   I would love to reach goal.  Yet I do realize that where I am is alot better/healthier than where I was!

Hi everyone.  Once again, it's been a long time since my last post.  I haven't been making a lot of progress but I'm maintaing a loss of approximately 75 pounds.  At one time I had hopes of being part of the 100's club.  That seems less likely as time rolls by.  Still, I am very happy to be maintaining!  Best wishes to everyone!

    Topic: RE: Pre-surgery update
So, I am thinking you have had your surgery and I pray that everything went well.  Beginning a new and wonderful for you and your family!
Topic: RE: Best weight loss tool ever!!
You are too funny, Kitty!  We are our own worst critics.  Maybe we should all follow your lead - make a dress form and keep it close to the kitchen, and I should another one in the car for my drive thru cravings LOL!
Topic: RE: Time to get back on the BAND wagon
I have an appointment for July 28.  I need to get back on track so I will try to take off a few pounds between now and the 28th.  Not much chance that I will get back to where I was on my last appointment but closer than I am now would be a good thing.  Sorry Kitty-Mom I won't be going this coming Thurs. - I really thought it would be sooner than July 28th though - guess they must be very busy.
Topic: RE: I need some help and advice
I know - it's been a long time since my last post.  Maybe if I had relied on those of you with experience I wouldn't be in the position I'm in now.  I have gained about 10 pounds back and I can't seem to get off the sugar - especially ice cream.  I have good restriction - maybe too good.  The only thing that slides down easily is ice cream.  I'm breaking all the rules and I know it.  I need a good swift kick in the pants!!!  My only hope is to get off the sugar and back on track.  I am absolutely positive the weight would come off if I would follow the RULES!  So the question is, how do you help someone who won't help themselves?  I know what to do - but I am craving the SUGAR big time.  Please help!!!
Topic: RE: 2nd day of meditrim
I really liked the meditrim with crystal lite.  The only other thing I could suggest is to have it as cold as possible without actually being frozen.  Ice crystals are fine and hang in there it doesn't last forever - just seems that way!  You can do it!
Topic: RE: Thanks for the photo comments...
Ann, it was a great day!  It was especially nice to get photos of those people who may not be with us for a long time.
Topic: RE: I got my new date!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!  How wonderful!  The next few weeks will fly by and before you know it you be on the losers bench.  I am soooo happy for you!!!
Topic: RE: Day 3 post op
Nice to hear that things are going well for you.  Sounds like you are on the right tract :-)  The liquid diet seems to take for ever - but it will pass - one day at a time.  You are doing great.  Keep up the good work!

    Topic: RE: forty years!
Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in May of this year.  My daughter and son decided to surprise us with a family photo shoot this summer.  I've posted a few of the pics if anyone would like to have a peek. - Abby
    Topic: RE: Strange NSV
Charline,  may be a strange NSV but SWEEET!  You are doing amazingly well at this whole thing - in spite of your stress/s.  Keep up the good work - you are an inspiration to us all!
    Topic: RE: Good Luck Whitney!
Hope you get great news on your visit today.  Sounds like you are doing a fantastic job sticking to the plan!   This is such an exciting time - I remember it well.  The scales have finally started moving again for me - in a good way :-)   We will all be looking forward to your next post!  Take care - Abby
Topic: RE: Day one of shakes
I agree, Crystal Lite makes the shakes actually enjoyable!  I wish i had tried it earlier in my 2 weeks of shakes!
Topic: RE: It's been a rough month.
So sorry to hear of your struggles Charline.  I haven't been on in a while but I do try to keep up with what is happening with everyone.  Starr, nice to see you are hanging in there  Part of the reason I haven't been contributing is because I was back sliding.  I gained about 5 pounds over the last couple of months but have managed to take it off again.  I would really like to lose at least 20 more pounds and if I could stay away from the sliders I would be fine - WILLPOWER!!!  GRRRRR.  Charline, congrats on cleaning out that closet - lots of fun!

BTW - I have posted a few pics from our 40th wedding anniversary,  Feel free to take a peek Wishing everyone all the best - Abby

     CONGRATS MELISSA!  AND GOOD LUCK!
    Topic: RE: fill on Thursday.....
Not for us - every trip I've made to Moncton has cost me a sick day.  We can accumulate 195 days - I will never see that before I retire in 3 or 4 years. We get 15 a year and right now I have about 65 days accumulated.  Oh well, as long as I don't need them for something big.
    Topic: RE: fill on Thursday.....
My next appointment will be July 5 on a Monday.  They offered me one sooner but it is a busy time of year at work and I really didn't want to use another sick day.  I will be on vacation in July.  I'm not doing great right now - still not losing and I know it is because of my food choices.  Wish we could make the trip together - maybe next time.  Good luck with your fill!

Good news - I had a colonoscopy done a week or so ago and the results were great - not just good but GREAT!  I admit I was a bit concerned but now I'm relieved to have had the test over and done with.
    Topic: RE: Double Whammy!
I'm sure you will do it - you are one determined lady!  Can't wait to hear about your meeting with the surgeon - how excited you must be!!!!!
