Topic: RE: Question about Medicaid
The best advice I could give you is to go to one of Dr Anthone and Dr Winterstein's seminars in Omaha.  Their number is 402-354-1320.  You will gain enormous information from it.  Medicaid does cover, and the biggest thing you have to do is 6 months of Dr supervised weight loss.  They will give you all the info you need at this seminar.  They have them once a month I think the next one is around the 9th of April and they are free.  Good luck.

Topic: RE: MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!
Dr. Anthone AND Dr. Winterstein in Omaha at the Methodist Bariatric Center except both Medicaid and Medicare, and are members of excellence.  My friend who uses both Medicaid and Medicare just had surgery, and I am awaiting my surgery date now.  They have been nothing short of wonderful!

Topic: LGBT forum invitation
Hello,
I just wanted to let people know   there is a forum for the community and anyone who is friendly and want to stop by. I was very active 3 years ago and would like to see it become active again.   It is listed under  "weight loss related"

I am not attempting to offend anyone. I understand that some might not agree with me posting. I am doing it to help LGBT people. Everyone has the right to not agree. I respect that.

                                                             Thank You !

Topic: sit around and wait :)

Well....I have officially fulfilled all the preop requirements for the gastric sleeve and am hoping that insurance will approve me. My husband is a federal employee and he's in the guard. We have two insurances at the moment. Primary is MHBP which is a federal employee plan and the other is tricare but the tricare drops off on the 14th of Jan. Just really nervous that I won't get approved before the tricare drops off.
When I began this process I decided that if it was meant to be it would be. But after all of this work my original plan of thought has gone out the window!

Topic: having trouble
For the last 4 or so years I have been maintaining between 155 -165# . August 19-26 we went on a RCCI alaskian cruise for our 20th wedding anniversary. I had a procedure while on board that I had understood to be a wrap, which it was but it also had electrodes conected to muscles to stimulate them. This connected to tummy area. I did not know this at the time I booked it or I would not have done it at all.  Long story short I have gained 30# since getting back. Went to dr. about a month ago or so but still having problems. I don't feel any restriction even though still have fluid in band. I can eat anything and more than prior. I am going to go back to dr as soon as harvest is over but I do not know what to do. Scared that something bad has happened but ????

Topic: RE: Revision Gastric Bypass Surgy
Not sure on Tom White but Dr. Anthone does do revisions but they are on a case by case. Doesn't hurt to see if he will, but will warn you that his staff suck at sending correct infomration to your insurance for approval. Also revisions throught the throat, no good, dont waste the money from what I have heard.

Start-Revision RNY 02/17/2012- 402#, 2 months- down 55 #, 3 months-339

Topic: Revision Gastric Bypass Surgy
Does anyone know if Dr. Tom White does revision surgery through the throat.  I had gastric bypass surgery and I've gained half my weight back.  If he does not perform revisions, does Dr. Anthone perform it?  Has anyone had this done with success?  Many thanks for your time and reply.

Topic: Question about Medicaid
Hi everyone!  I've been trying to do research in regards to if Medicaid here in Nebraska will cover the lapband.  I keep finding that yes they do, but they require a bunch of extra stuff before approval - but have not had great luck with finding what is required.

Who here has gone through the approval process with Medicaid?  What did it involve?  How difficult was it for you to get approval?

I'm 21 years old, my BMI is 38, and I'm pushing 80 pounds overweight.  I've been overweight since I was in elementary school, have been diagnosed with both asthma and depression - both after I was overweight.  I've hit the point that I know I need to do something different - diet alone isn't working, and even just going for walks is hard on my asthma at this point.  I have an 11 month old little boy who I'm raising alone - I need to make changes so that I can be the best mother I can be for him.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
