I would love to come. I am one week out today, so depending when it is, I may have to catch the next one. But I am about an hour from Toledo...so that sounds great! Let me know.
Topic: RE: Out of date
I just wanted to share that I am a drug and alcohol couselor. I have tons of resources, if you would like anything anytime. Just let me know. Many times, people trade one addiction for another, because it is what we know how to do. Blessings.
Topic: RE: Pre Op Liquid Diet
Ok so I have been so paranoid, about these drinks. I called the clinic and talked to a fellow. So , he said since I have already lost over 30 pounds...I dont need to stress. I can just use the slim fast ultima, and/or carnation. Just stay uner the 800 calorie mark. But he said I could also do SF jello and popcicle...so I am ok there. :) I just wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. Plus, I told him how much my exercise has increased....still doing 2 mile walks, but now up to four days a week from two, and now weight training with my trainer, and swimming. So I think I will be ok. Thanks for everyones help.
Topic: RE: Pre Op Liquid Diet
Thanks for all the replys. I guess it is any slim fast optima and even regular carnation. You just have to stay below 800 calories a day. So they told me 5 a day for the slim fast, and that adds up...190 calories times 5, puts me just below the 800 mark. So I am good to go. I start Monday. I am actually ok with it. This past week I have been doing 2 slim fast and a small meal. Normally the pre packaged weigh****chers. I am not hungry, and have lots of energy. I even did pilates tonight with a friend. :)
Topic: RE: Pre Op Liquid Diet

I am starting my liquid diet on Monday. All I know is that I am to do 800 calories a day. I can have slimfast ultima or carnation instant breakfast. I was wondering if anyone knew if they were suppose to be sugar free? I am thinking no, because sugar free slimfast is impossible to find...and when you add up the calories it makes since...4 1/2 a day on 800 calories, and they are 190 a piece. But some people told me they did sugar free....any thoughts?

Kim~  Thanks for your introduction. I am going to Cleveland because I have medicaid and medicare and guess you have to go somewhere that is considered a center of excellence. So I called around and they suggested Cleveland. I would love to have gone to Toledo, because it is only 45 minutes from me. But I guess I will deal with Cleveland. I am happy with them. I will add you to my friends if you dont mine.  Thanks!  Jennifer

I am right beside Indiana and right below Michigan, if that helps. Toledo is an hour from me, sometimes less if I take the turnpike. The turnpike is one mile from my house. That makes it nice when I go to Cleveland.  I have heard very good things about the Cleveland Clinic and feel pretty confident in having my surgery done there. They require a few extra things that other plaes don't seem to. But as long as it helps them, help me....that is all I care.  Take care, Jennifer

Hi Kat~  Thanks for the greeting. I am so excited to finally feel like I am only a few steps away from having surgery. There are a couple of hurdles yet. For instance, two weeks prior to surgery I have to be on 800 calorie liquid diet. That is going to really put me into shock! But I guess it will prepare my body psychologically for what is about to happen.  Blessings~ Jennifer

Hi Melissa~  Thanks for introducing yourself. :) Your surgery is coming up pretty fast here. How exciting (and nerve-wracking)! I bet you are glad it is after the holidays. I was thinking about that. I wondered what I would have done if the Dr.  would have said I could have it done December 23. I probably would have went ahead and done it. The only thing that would have held me back is that it would interrupt the people who are going to help me through its holidays. Well anyway, good luck to you. I will be thinking of you.  ~Jennifer

Hello Everyone. My name is Jennifer. I am 27 (almost 28 years old-on the 27th). I am from a small town called Edon, Ohio. I am having my surgery done at the Cleveland Clinic. I go back for my final visit with the surgeon on January 4th. I will set my surgery date then, but we were shooting for Feb 11th. I am having ym surgery done with Dr. Chand. It has been a good trip so far...the Clinic is very clean and everyone is very nice and helpful. I believe that I am in good hands going there. Some places I looked into were a bit scary.  I here to make friends, gain support, and get ideas on begining a new life through WLS. I am posting on my page daily, and would love to get the chance to make some new friends.  Have a blessed day.  Jennifer
Topic: RE: MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!
Hello there.  I am new, just started this process of posting on here. I am having my surgery done at the Cleveland Clinic. I have both medicare and medicaid. I know that they take it. They were actually very happy that was the insurance I had. They said that Medicaid and Medicare do not require any pre-approvals. Since Cleveland Clinic is consider a Center of Excellence, they feel they meet the criteria to make the decision on behalf of the client. So I would suggest that they call the Clinic and ask for bariatrics, and get a new client packet sent out to them. They do have a bit of paperwork, and there are some hoops to  jump through. But if you want the surgery there should be no problem. Also, just for your information. If a person has straight medicaid or medicare....not buckeye or the others....their local human services has to give them a gas certificate to get to their appointments. So FYI on that. They give me 50.00 for each trip I have had to make. I live almost 3 hours away. But it helps me out. If I can be of any further help, message me on here or at jenseyedea@yahoo.com. Good Luck.
