Question regarding giving B12 shots self administered?

I'm sure you are doing your dosing on the advice of a doctor and with regular blood tests even though B12 is not a prescription med... just saying cause I got my iron levels all screwed up by taking too much B12. So much so that I ended up needing iron infusions.
