My hair is falling out in droves!  It started just after 4 months post-op, I'm now at 5 months.  It's still falling out.  My hair is very thick normally, so I wasn't worried for 3 weeks, but when does it end?  Is there a usual period of time during which it falls out? Thanks!

Unfortunately it does seem to last for a little while.  Mine start around 4 months out as well and is still falling out (I'm almost 8 months post-op).  My hair has noticeably thinned, but I'm trying not to worry about it.  A few months of bad hair is a small price to pay for this surgery.  My hair dresser has given me a really great hair cut and that has helped a lot.

Don't panic - it will stop!  :)

I does vary from person to person.  From my time in the WLS community the 'general' time frame seems to be about 3 months.  I was about three months myself.

It does slow down but I know it is a shock. One of the 'taking the bad with the good' side effects of the surgery.

Draino and hair screens for the tub.......yuck.

I am sorry to be the bearer or bad news, I am 15 months post op and my hair is still falling out.  Most of the time it is not concerning, but if I miss even one day of getting all my protein in or if I'm lacking iron, it comes out in handfuls.

I too have thick hair, so I wasn't concerned at first, but I have days now where it can be worry me.

Almost 2 years post op and my hair is FINALLY growing back into the lovely thick hair I had pre-surgery. It takes time, but it comes back.
