Humber River Hospital - Downsview, Ontario (wait times)

I went to the initial information session on May 1, 2015 and still have not heard anything about my next appointments.

Any other person in the same situation?

Also, is it appropriate to tell them you need to know the dates because you have several events coming up and want to schedule accordingly?

Even if you ask, they won't tell you any dates until your turn comes up. I tried.  To give you an idea of the timeline - I had my orientation in February and didn't get a call until late June to tell me about my surgeon's appointment in July.  After that things happened pretty quickly and I am booked for surgery November 4th.

Yours moved pretty quick for sure...you're having surgery within 9 months

my is going on 5 months now and haven't heard anything yet...I'm planning to go south this winter but I can't plan anything yet until I hear otherwise who knows how long I'll have to wait....

who's your surgeon?

It will actually be 15 months for me from the day my referral went in until surgery day. It was more than 5 months between orientation and my first surgeon appointment.  I was pretty vigilant about calling to get on cancellation lists once I had my appointments dates and I think that made a big difference (especially with Dr.Glazer).  It also helps that my surgeon is Dr.Klein and he isn't as backed up right now as some of the other surgeons. I heard Dr.Starr is booking in March/April next year already.

I went through Humber as well..

My timeline is below in my signature line - but it was about 15 months for me from start to finish... I would say go ahead and book your trip and you can schedule your appointments around it if necessary..  My hubby also had surgery (same day as me) but was going to pu**** back a couple of months because of work commitments, when they fell though he was able to just call the surgeon and book his date!!!

I know that feeling all to well, but you also don't want to stop your life because of this.... the whole point is that this surgery is a tool to let you live your life the fullest... so enjoy everything, even that crazy silly wait times.. (I know easier said than done!).
