CANCELLATIONS

I have had about one appointment per month and everything has gone through without a hitch.  My next appointment isn't until February 7th for my psychological evaluation.  I called and asked if there was anything earlier and told there was not, but that I could phone each week to see if there is a spot available.

Two questions:  Should have I asked for anyone in the psychology department and not the person whom I currently have an appointment with?  Secondly, am I being a pain asking for an earlier appointment?  I know how busy they are and hate to be a bother.

I thought it might be easier for staff if I sent my request via fax.  When I didn't hear, I called and was told that they do not accept any request for changes to appointments by fax.  Lesson learned.

Still a thankful traveler.

I changed pretty much every one of my appts - if I had not - I still would be waiting to see the Dietician which I think I was originally scheduled for on Dec 19th?

Now I am on my way to Surgery in Jan - all because I called and got cancellations.

I used to call on Monday - because people always seemed to cancel on Monday mornings for some reason.

If you are really nice - they may remember you and call you when they get a cancellation :)

Good luck :)

Many thanks for the information.  I will call again on Monday morning and ask for any cancellations within the psych. department.  I see that you are scheduled back in Toronto and will only need one surgery.  That's great news.  Good luck and add some peppermint to the Optifast.  Yum!

Good luck and thank you!

I am so happy to only have the one surgery!

I will try the peppermint - I already have coconut - but I'm doing Slim Time - and apparently they taste a bit better than opti :)

I called for cancellations too, and was so excited to get the appointments done by September... And here I am STILL WAITING. Sigh.

At TWH, the best person is the person answering the phone.  And they've reassured me many times they don't mind me calling.

Thank you.  I will try again on Monday.  The date of my orientation was in April, like yours, but I didn't get my information in the mail as my address was incomplete.  They rescheduled me for June and I have been in the process ever since.  I don't want to ru**** but if there was a date in January, I would be happy to take it.

I will ask for any cancellations within the psych. department and not just for the person whom they have assigned me to.

Your date will be here quickly.  I hope all goes well in meeting your surgeon in January.

Linda

Oh wow, that must be so frustrating for you. Keep calling! We were probably in the same orientation. I was there with my dad in the front row.  He corrected an error in the powerpoint lol.  My dad has a way of making his presence known.
