Why do we have to wait after eating to drink. Dies anyone have a simple explanation?

Thanks!

you have to wait.. because it will flush the food out too quickly if you eat and drink together..

There is a really good video on YoutTube that made I clearer for me. I found the visual was helpful.

That is actually really helpful. Thanks. But what about soup?

Soup would be something that is often referred to on these boards as a slider food. It doesn't stay in the pouch just like it wouldn't last long in the funnel.

You want to keep food and protein in pouch and have it digest slowly. This will keep you feeling full longer and decrease hunger. liquids will flush your pouch which will lead to overeating and grazing. the occasional sip is ok if food to dry but should be the exception

it can also cause dumping...something that happens when food enters the small intestines too quickly...

Thanks! I guess I was a bit confused because soup seems to be different

Dumping only relates to sugar though, or simple carbs.
