Hi, it's me MJ! I am looking into medical-id bracelets - did you buy one? If so, where did you get it and what does it say on it? I am getting my RNY on 8/1.

I'm on day 6 today of my opti-fast. It's going to be challenging. I have friends in from Texas. They are on their honeymoon. I am going to be putting on a little spread for them. I need strength for sure - but I know in my heart I will get though it. Be Well everyone!

Hi MJ, I have a medical ID bracelet that I ordered from https://ca.emergencyid.com/

Mine just says Gastric Bypass and no penicillin (because I am allergic). At my 6 month check up the nurse asked if I had one and was satisfied with mine.

Something to keep in mind - I would look at getting just the ID and not the bracelet. I ordered both and the bracelet was way too big just 4 months after my surgery. I just go to Michaels and buy beads from their jewelry section to attach to mine. This way I can change out the bracelet when I want, and as it gets too big, I can just cheaply get a new one.

I have a heart condition that requires special conditions even before an IV goes in. I have had medic alert for this for years. The ID sizing can change and they have so many style options that you can easily find one that works for you. One big thing that stood out for medic alert over the others is that it is a fast call for the paramedics or doctors and once they receive a call they actually call your family as well. They do have a monthly fee unlike some of the others but it has been around forever so it is a well oiled machine and one that is looked for by emergency personnel.

Keep an eye out as they always have sales. There is a 25% off right now using code WO717R but it expires 1159pm. On Monday.

I bought a road ID... (roadid.com). My name, when I had surgery, no NSAIDs, no sugars, no blind by tube, the town I live in, my husband's name and number. I'm pretty sure I have a pic of it on my WLS instagram... @ need.to.run.81.RNY
