Everyone ones pain tolerance is different but I was off pain meds the day I came home from the hospital! I had the RNY! I was out shopping 4 days out. I needed a rest when I got home I won't lie! Just remember to bring your water and keep sipping! Take it slow and easy but life still goes on! Best of luck with your surgery! Did u end up getting through to EI the other day when u posted? I put the number up for u!

I couldn't have done anything that soon afterward. I was in a lot of pain and driving...nope. You might be one of the lucky ones who has no pain though. I think it depends on your surgeon as well as your pain tolerance.

Depending on the age of your children I would say yes... If you have little ones that need to be lifted, carried, diapers etc. I was off all pain meds the day after surgery, out walking and doing groceries before day 5. Just listen to your body... It will tell you when you need to rest.

Hi, If does really depend on your tolerances.

As women.... We are strong....

surgery on a Wednesday, came out of hospital Thursday. I went to a funeral Friday and was out & about shopping @ Homesence & Winners

I did not need any narcotics after I left the hospital.

Only Tylenol. I did not have pain. Just a bit of discomfort when bending over.

I am am widow with 3 boys and I was able to do everything except lifting.

You truly will be amazed how great you feel!

Think positively and believe this will be life changing!

Good luck

Sandra

Everyone is different. I had a good recovery early on. The first few days after the surgery, the main pain was from gas and that hurt, but, I was not bed bound at all. Able to be up and about but moved slowly and of course no lifting. I prepared meals for the family before surgery so they could just be put in the oven. Planning ahead of time will be your best bet.
