Cancelation list at St. Joe's - Hamilton
Hi All!
I am waiting to find out a date to meet with the surgeon. My question is, after meeting with the surgeon, what is the best route to get on the cancellation list? I know the woman who books the surgery is Megan, but she apparently is really hard to get in touch with (never answers the phone and doesn't reply to voicemails). Have any of you been on the cancellation list and been called for surgery? Any advice out there?

I wish I could help... I went through TWH and could tell you exactly who to speak with there, but that wouldn't help you.
It's quiet on the board this weekend. No doubt all the St. Joe's folks will be chiming in soon to support you!

Thanks for your input! Yes! Lot's of people probably away. Getting ready to go away for the week right now! Summer is almost over so we have to make the most of it. We have a piece of property that we just bought and have been trying to get there as often as possible.

Sorry I can't help; I went through St. Joe's in Toronto, and the receptionist there was easy to get ahold of. I didn't try to get a cancellation though.
It goes really fast after meeting the surgeon, at least, it did for me.

Yes, hopefully it will go quick for me too, but I think someone said they are booking into "late" fall. Actually, that's ok really because I have already waited so long....I can wait a little longer...builds character! I only asked on this post in the hopes that maybe I could go in quicker, but I will take what I can get!!

I called and left a message and asked to be put on the list and specifically asked to get a call back confirming that I was on the list.
Just as an fyi for gauging time, I had my consent appointment on July 11th and I am still waiting for my date. She told me that there were about 90 surgeries to book before mine.

Glad you are well on your way now after all your set backs. I found reaching people by phone in hamilton very annoying. Best bet it to just go there and stalk them til you can talk to the person directly. I was able to get all my appts quickly by booking them right at the desk...when you are in their face....you seem to have better luck.

thanks! I've been away on vacation, but just checked my email after a week and listened to a message from the bariatric clinic that says that I have an appointment to meet the surgeon on Sept. 6...so relieved.
